RE: Market10 May 2019 18:55
Avrohom, I will respectfully disagree with your earlier post. The analogies you make are a bit misleading to say the least.
British gas, well, sells gas and not much else. Not much room to diversify there. Its a seller of a fossil fuel which BT is not.
M&S sells clothing with a very small amount of food. the quality of which can be found elsewhere.
Tesco, operating in an over saturated market struggling with the likes of Aldi etc.
BT though has diversified well, has pretty good R&D bringing high speed broadband to most homes and is improving speeds. Its routers seem second to none. Into its own mobile offerings and also EE. Is indulging in the champions league which this week can of done it no harm especially the advertising revenue.
So BT is in a totally different environment to the companies you mentioned, selling a totally different product. I look at other companies in BT`s sector and think they have to compete with BT , not the other way round. I think this is why ofcom are always trying to reign BT in, to strong.
Just my thoughts, and no animosity intended but please keep it accurate and relevant. GL.
