In November, Lloyds reported a Common Equity Tier-1 ratio of 15.2%. At the end of 2019, the ratio was 15%. This was significantly above management’s minimum required level of 13.5%.

When the Tier-1 capital ratio hit 15% in 2019, Lloyds declared a final dividend of 2.25p per share, totalling £1.6bn. I think this capital figure only increased during the last three months of the year. That suggests Lloyds could return substantially more than the £1.6bn payout it distributed for 2019.

I think these numbers mean investors could see a final dividend for 2020 of around 2.5p to 3p per share in the best-case scenario. This suggests the stock could provide investors with a dividend yield of 7% to 8.2%, based on my figures. Even in the most basic scenario, I can see the stock offering a yield of around 3%, or in line with the market average, in 2021.

Ball park meaning I think you are correct. "Impatience" possibly a bit but I do find banks frustrating. Been in LLOY twice and took a few years to get out. Still have a few barc but those will go at some point.

You maybe right but we are both using a bit of guess-ology. It is the BoD that gets my goat. Knowing that thousands of people rely on divi payments to supplement their pensions they should be more forthcoming, offering reassurances. Their silence is irritating to say the least. Looking at 2019 figures though and an end of PPI could make for a nice final divi. But knowing banks and previous experience means I will not hold my breath.

To pat 1p divi costs lloy £700,000,000 (Seven hundred million) 2019 profit was £5.4 Billion dividend 3.21p
Now there should be one years profits saved, about four billion. Now take into account that PPI has ended profit could be higher. I think a 2p dividend paid twice this year is doable and also fair to long suffering holders. 4p over the year will cost £2.8 billion. I see no reason why this will not be a figure to aim for and is at least fair but watch the directors and GOV take the lions share with the actual owners being treated as peasants. However 4p would go along way to appease lloy holders and help lift SP back to previous pre covid levels. Pinkies crossed.

That takes a bit of doing and looks hard work. I would struggle. Buy and sell least often as possible seems to work for me. Cheers anyway Falkland.

Morning Dividendchaser. I do not think Falky is the enemy here. The BoD are the problem imho. Issuing new shares to themselves whilst there are 71 Billion shares in circulation. Looks like Antonio is going to disappear like a puff of smoke but with his pockets bulging. I struggle to accept that these are the best people available to run this once great bank. People who fail or preform poorly seem to attract the same type of person to follow them. Can anyone say that over the last 12 years lloyds has been run well? Not me. Got enticed back in here last year and although still in the black it is the worst stock I hold. Sorry for rant, just fed up with jam tomorrow.

Are you trading on the small movements here? If so you are braver than me. To make money here you would have to use vast amounts for small returns. With trading costs and HMG`s bit that must be difficult. How do you do it? Regards.

Morning Falky, not sure why peeps take offence to some of your posts. After all they are not forced to reed them. I don't mind reading your thoughts, some posted with a bit of tongue in cheek me thinks.
I have two positions here 35p and 24.6p av of 31p. When it reaches 41p I will be out. Divi announcement would help. Just wish the BoD would be more vocal. I do not have a great deal of faith in them. Seem to good at looking after themselves.

May I be so bold as to ask you to think again about jab. The problem with not having it may prolong the life span of covid19. Like minded people will keep the virus spreading and more will die. It could also help the virus mutate again and become resistant to the vaccines then we are back to square one.
If its a needle thing you are not alone. I have given blood 40+ times and still do not like needles.I can not watch. So please think again and go with the flow. I will respect your decision though and please do not see this post as being a criticism of yourself. GL .

I have opened a cash ica with Vangard Investor about ten months ago. Placed 12k then watched it drop to 10.8k as the virus bit. It is now at 12.65k which is a great performance in todays climate. I used a 60/40 split and along with very low fees has worked well. Being in cash is not good atm because of terrible rates. Posted this for any thoughts. GL all.

The BBC tries to predict news, shape news, and scaremonger. Its programs are politically correct, tired, boring, and past sell by date.
