Avoset, strange post mate, 30% ?????? must be the same 30% that won the last election.

If only everyone had got behind the uk leaving after the democratic vote to leave we would have had a deal by now. But negative remain voices in the UK have encouraged the EU to offer a very poor deal. Remember "Britain not allowed to leave without a deal" brigade? It took a general election to rid ourselves of them. The BBC this morning stated " Taxes will be placed on our exports" It did not say Taxes would also be placed on EU imports. The enemy within. Its previous statements have been "Walking of a cliff without a deal"
Then we have the Lords. I can hardly print the word without upsetting my blood pressure. I think total disband is appropriate for the Lords. (This would also save a few Billion long term)
If we had all sung from same hymn sheet the EU would not have been encouraged to insult us with its so called deal. Instead we would have had a Canada style deal, that had already been offered, and they would have still had some access to fishing. Not perfect but better than May`s capitulation.
The EU`s behavior to the UK has also changed the minds of some of my remainer friends. They did not believe the EU would try to punish the UK like this.
The bottom line for me now is I support a no deal outcome. We stand on our own feet and deal with the rest of the world which the EU is only a small part of.
What we scribe here won`t make any difference, but we will survive and move on. GL ALL.

Evening snige, a five year time frame is doable. We can now deal with rest of the whole wide world without asking the EU`s permission. Avoid the EU red tape and cut our industries free. Trade deals are already being done and more in the pipeline. We have now to stop talking ourselves down, use the natural talent this country has produced for years.
A question for you.. What EU type cartel did America, China or Japan join to become the richest countries in the world?
Would any of these countries agree to be governed by and be subservient to another country? At the same time giving away their natural resources.

I do not like the EU politicians. I see it as a gravy train to enrich themselves. Every two weeks the EU parliament moves lock stock and barrel to a different capital. At vast expense. Why? because they could not agree where HQ should be. Ego`s at stake. What good does this do the tax payers of Europe?
Anyhow I will let it rest. I believe in democracy and everyone has a say. GL.

Was in the lake district on Monday near Buttermere watching the sun set on the mountains. Beautiful. got me thinking this country has so much to offer, Scenery, land, sea, its wealth of people, its scientists, engineers , builders, teachers, universities, doctors nurses, the best financial institutions and so on. Is that delusional?
We have the strength in abundance to stand on our own two feet. We just need the nerve and encouragement.

In five years time this country will be thriving. ( What EU are afraid of) It will need strong banks to deal with the amount of investment we will need. Barcs ,lloy and others will be back in favour again with strong divi`s to boot.
I am an optimist, I feel we will do well once totally free. Only problem I see is not enough people to fill vacancies.

The UK government has broken ranks with the EU by disclosing plans to suspend punitive tariffs against the US over aircraft subsidies, in an attempt to pave the way for a post-Brexit trade deal with Washington.

It followed the imposition by Washington last year of duties of up to 25 per cent on $7.5bn worth of European imports into the US, after the World Trade Organization found Airbus, the Franco-German aircraft maker, had also benefited from unlawful state aid.
EU breaking rules, well would you believe it. A trade deal with the USA is slowly being pathed. Internal market bill dropped and no tariffs from UK on America. Bring it on , then rest of world ( Not EU though, Will have to wait till that breaks up )

We already have some of the most protective employment rules in the world. Don`t see why that would change.

Has stated Keeping EU employment rules and standards is not negotiable and we must adhere to EU rules. I bet she tells China the same while accepting a flood of cheap, slave labour made rubbish. The EU side is purely about punishing the UK. "How dare you leave the EU" etc. Rules are going to be more strict for the UK than any EU country and enforced to the letter , France will see to that. We will be forever punished, the odd man out as we have been for last 40 years.
Time to bite the bullet, take the knock once then rebuild our prosperity with the rest of the world. A deal with the EU will be a constant knock down. Time to leave.
Our own market will slowly recover and will need good banks to help it along. Lloyds will be ready.

Separate polling of 1,200 British businesses indicated nearly one third of exporters had made changes to their supply chain because of Brexit.

Export Minister at the Department for International Trade Graham Stuart said: "90 percent of global growth is expected to be outside Europe over the next few years.

BRITISH exporters are already severing ties with the EU in favour of alternative markets elsewhere in the world in line with Boris Johnson's Global Britain vision, new research has indicated.

With less than a month to go before the end of the Brexit transition period, EU negotiator Michel Barnier and UK counterpart Lord David Frost are working feverishly to try and thrash out a trade deal. However, with such an agreement hanging in the balance, the study - undertaken by Lloyds Bank and Aston Business School - indicates nearly one in five companies which export goods overseas has diverted business away from the EU since the 2016 referendum result.
The research also indicates that firms are actively looking for new export markets as a result of the UK leaving the EU.

Exports worth an estimated £50billion have been diverted since June 2016, according to the report, based on an analysis of 340,000 quarterly export transactions made by a total of 26,000 UK exporters.

Over the course of the last five years, growth in export values towards EU countries have fallen by an average of 8.7 percent a year, the report added.

Good show Aus. Yeah I to hold small amount in lloy but am in profit there. Actually bought some at about 24p with gov`s bit. Not often I get it right.
RE- Brexit I try not to read posts / news on Brexit as this can make my blood boil. Not healthy. So I now leave it be as much as possible. What we print here will make no difference anyway.
BT- I still think BT is way under valued. A strong balance sheet, not much disturbance from covid and pension being resolved all bode well, pinkies crossed.

LTI, You missed out - Governor of the bank of England, the CBI, The BBC, Heseltine, Major, Blair and others who went against the British people ..... and LOST. WE spilt blood and lost our best people to preserve democracy. These remoaners do not respect this. The whole establishment brow beat the people to stay in the dictatorship EU and still the British said No NO NO. Now we need a good deal. The French are getting upset at being excluded from our waters, well they would be more upset if Renaults, Citroens, Peugeots, champagne, wines etc were also excluded. Need to get real. The only problem there is it looks like we are going to surrender again to the EU France continuing to plunder 80% of our fish.

There are 70 billion+ shares in circulation. A 1p move up in sp adds around £700 million in value to lloyds. I think that's correct. so dynamite may struggle to move this share but it will move up imo. Reason, no ppi, covid eventually defeated then a rebounding economy. Patience needed. GL all.
