All we know is that CD40 is considered a highly promising but difficult target. Several companies have mAbs in clinical trials and some have given up. Seagen has developed SEA-CD40 and as this is a proprietary drug, I assume that there must have been some element of co-operation from Seagen in allowing Scancell to enhance SEA-CD40 with Avidimab. I'm not sure we can read any more into it at this stage and need to wait and see what Scancell have to say.
Having said that, Redmile's involvement with Seagen is interesting and well spotted by marcus. According to Redmile's last 13f SEC filing, as at June this year, Seagen stock made up over 5% of Redmile's portfolio, so pretty significant. Next 13f filings are due in November which will detail their holdings as of September.
