re. your earlier post. I'm not sure there is another modification to come. Isn't the tech. licensed from University of Nottingham it? - ie. glycosylation. Just to clarify, HMRC rules don't allow VCT funds to hold more than 15% of their fund in any one company. OXT took part in a previous placing and the increase in their holding coupled with an increase in the SP resulted in Scancell making up more than 15% of the value of their fund and they were duly punished by HMRC!! So VCT funds are limited in the amount they can buy in any one company but companies themselves are also limited in the amount they can raise through EIS and VCT funds. There is an annual limit which I think was raised to �10m in the last budget but there is also a lifetime cap. I think JG's tweet was unfortunate and as Calculus have someone on SCLP's board it might have been much better to just pick up the phone. Having said that, I think it's worth remembering that Calculus have been very supportive long term backers for Scancell.

Worth noting this from the RNS:- 'In every patient (100%), the Parsortix system yielded viable CTCs that could be developed into an ex-vivo culture. The number of CTCs harvested using the Parsortix system was significantly higher than has been reported with other systems and ranged from 300 to 17,250 CTCs per patient. ' These were breast cancer patients and of course the ongoing trial which hopefully will lead to FDA approval is also in breast cancer. The research today was only in a small no. of patients (16), nevertheless a 100% success rate and the collection of such a high no. of CTC's is very encouraging and bodes well.

Depends what you define as 'of use'. Think melanoma patients with a history of multiple recurrence who are still alive and cancer free 5 and 6 years after vaccination with SCIB1 is quite useful.

Hotwings, of course it's always good to raise funds at the smallest discount possible but only last week the SP was around 14p here , the week before it was around 13p. Even you will accept that as it's only Tuesday, terms are likely to have been agreed when the SP was lower and the discount offered was probably at that time around 15% which seems fair enough. We all knew this funding was coming and it has been hanging over the Company's head for far too long. Good to see it out of the way. They can now get on with the job in hand and we can all look forward to these trials getting underway. More importantly, we shouldn't let it overshadow the deal announced with University of Nottingham this morning. LD has published several research papers on the potential of glycans as targets for future therapies. Think I posted the one below a while back and it has certainly been discussed on twitter. As far as we know, Scancell aren't attending AACR but there has been plenty of news that is relevant to Scancell and I suspect more to come. The big new so far is that Merck seems to be winning the PD-1 race with some great results in lung cancer for the combination of Keytruda and chemo. BMS also had good news for lung cancer too and interestingly have shown that TMB (high tumour mutation burden) instead of PD-1 expression is a better predictor of response. Perhaps of more interest here is the announcement of the collaboration between CRUK and AACR and it will be interesting to find out more about that. Finally, it's amazing how understanding of the immune system and the tumour environment grows each year.

Please don't tell me that you disagree with that comment. Many, many of the IMM holders were investing in a bio for the very first time. Based on today's events, do you think they're more or less likely now to invest in another bio? If IMM had been successful then I know for certain some holders intended to invest profits in SCLP - now they won't. So whether it's the sector as a whole or just SCLP it's not good news. In any case, that part of my post was simply an aside to the main point which was that it is very unhelpful IMO to post these gloating 'I was right' posts on the back of such bad news. People have lost serious amounts of money but far, far more importantly, lupus is a dreadful disease with NO effective treatments and it's a great shame for patients. Your comments aren't even accurate.
