Curious to know what today's excuse is.
This is probably one of the worst performing stocks out there.
Even within airline stocks .... this this is quite bad.
It has consistently underperformed and I think everyone is still hope that yesterday was the bottom.
Well.... today is another red day.
#DiamondHands
Im just here to have a look at these diamond hands everyone has been talking about @fordm.
About the chapter 11, yes its restructuring debt but they cant keep operating these routes at a loss especially if new investment cant be brought in to subsidize their plans.
Again, i like to gauge what people are willing to pay for this share.
today: -3.75%
month: -17.35%
6months: -35.6%
I wonder what constitutes a troll? If you dont agree with an opinion, you just dismiss me as a troll.
Also, a lot of people on here nursing a losing trade with no reason apart from "I once took a flight with BA, it was terribly nice".
DYOR, Ive been watching ticket prices and airline bookings for quite some time.
The level of debate on here is a bit worrying, tantamount to beating chests and banging sticks.
Im still thinking 40p but we'll see
Called it!! Well this is good news.
I dont know if you muppets on here know this, but SAS were actually undercutting the transatlantic operators and the tickets were dirt cheap.
So great news for IAG.
@WannabeIdiot I recognise that everyone likes to talk their book. If people think im wrong, I want to know why.
I do think there will be bankruptcies for sure and these will be big bankruptcies. Who will go, I dont know.
This is a policy of "last man standing".
The headwinds that we are experiencing will mean the status quo is untenable.
Cheap money will mean some of the policies of loss making will have to be curbed by these cheap flight companies.
There will be some consolidations depending on whether the EU policy makers start acting like adults.
US airlines do make money and healthy profit margins and we could see the EU airlines moving in that direction
Tighter purses ad the green agenda might me fewer flights low-cost airlines/flights
I think the industry will come out of this different.
If IAG survives this.... I think it can aggressively pay down the accumulated debt. Its a shame Brussels is dragging its heels about M&As. Thats what Im waiting for.
@fordm just saw the number 2 days ago....
cash is good,
recovery trajectory is good.
Debt is a little hairy for my liking.
airlines like Wizz are actually losing money for market share
Easy is in a weird place and is getting its share eaten up
IAG got rejected for Level takeover
I think the only thing that can save the industry is M&As and the EU powers that be are refusing this for now.
With the pay and cost pressures, IAG as well as other airlines are haemorrhaging money.
There will be a lot of bankruptcies, I think IAG will be ok if they can manage that debt but the industry has become really silly.
A bit like tech companies, its become an industry of loss making in lieu of market share.
I think the EU should stop being silly and allow for M&As
Well I guess I was wrong about this.
I really thought this share would sling shot back to 400 get the restrictions were lifted and the world came back online but I think theres too many headwinds.
Didnt think IAG would get here.
Worst performing stock in my portfolio
Whats going on with this share?
All thats left of the chat is SK who doesnt own any shares and still finds time to come on here to talk smack.
I just figure SK managed to lose a bundle on Premier.
I like him.... seems bitter though. Chalky.
Any way, best of luck next week.
