Yes I appreciate what you're saying re complications but doesn't this afford Avacta more protection. The test kit is made up of various components including our Affimer and the ISO covers the manufacture of said kits? If so then it means a manufacturer producing test kits using our affimer has to meet the ISO certification and therefore must produce to that and therefore cannot add or take away anything. So if we get a govt contract the manufacturer can't mess around with the manufacturing process. It also means we could set up our own manufacturing centre if we so wished but I think at this stage it would be a step too far. It also means we have added value to our affimer in a test kit should someone be looking to buy us out...

Gkb47...countries around the world have tried different ways to control this virus and at the same time trying to keep their economies going...none have been successful apart from the odd isolated tiny island communities.
In todays global economies, preventing this virus from spreading whilst trying to keep economies from total collapse is no easy task and looking at the way football fans conducted themselves in public places/venues when goals were scored before the rules were dropped then I think the rules were pretty much a waste of time anyway. What's the point if having a legal requirement if its totally unenforceable. If you're worried then get vaccinated, get tested, wear a mask, wash your hands, distance yourself from others and work from home if you can. I'm fed up of people moaning about the Govt telling them what to do and the minute they stop, they then moaning about the Govt not telling others around them what to do...geez...

And doesn't it mean we can licence out the manufacturing of our full LFT kit as a full unit not just our Affimer IP?
If so it means we are more in control of what our Affimer is used in and it also widens the whole field of manufacturers who have the opportunity to licence in fully ISO certified unit rather than having to pull the bits together themselves under their own ISO certification or at worst get new ISO certification.

This IMO is huge as it means it removes so many objections....

With the huge spike in Indonesia its possible the next variant could come from there.
How good are the other LFTs at picking up the variants? Have they all been put through the variant tests? What are their percentages rates for the various variants?
If tests are found to not meet performance parameters against a variant at any point will they be recalled?
Will manufacturers be made to keep their products up to date when it comes to tests against variants?

And this is what France has just announced to try and get their vaccination rates up...they are going down the mandatory route while the UK is using the try and scare them into it route...

Afraid I'm probably one of the very few who thinks the current tactic to frighten as many as they can into getting vaccinated and at the same time allow people to actually catch Covid to build herd immunity ASAP might not be as daft as it seems. Afraid we are now into tough it out territory and we are ALL going to have to learn to live with Covid. Check out what us happening in the Far East (winter for them) and cases in some EU countries are now starting to increase rapidly too. You and businesses are all being allowed to have a good Summer...nobody knows what this Winter is going to bring...so you might as well enjoy it and get used to it. Permanent lockdowns are not an option.
Do the best and right thing for you, your family and take some responsibility for others you come into contact with on a daily basis.
Testing will be a part of our lives for a long time, especially with the high levels of vaccine certificate fraud already coming to light and the digital passports don't necessarily work between different countries as they're all adopting different systems...check out the US...they are different between states..derrrr.

We have had several variants since then, plus Han****gate, plus Avacta has only just received MHRA/EU Registration, plus delay to freedom day, plus stocks of Innova to use (rightly or wrongly)...etc etc..
Has stock building of an alternative to the Innova test actually been taking place? So far we believe Avacta have been stock building at the Mologic/GAD site. Omega have said they are waiting to hear what they are supposed to be producing. Abingdon/Avacta?

Foxo...the UK Govt has basically vaccinate the main vunerable cohorts and now its down to basic herd immunity and getting the economy open. They are hoping they have scared enough people to do the right thing and many will still be careful. Testing NHS workers is to make sure they don't bring Covid to work with them as many will have unvaccinated youngsters at home. This is not about stopping the spread of covid it's simply about keeping as many out of hospital, scaring more into getting vaccination and letting kids get it to build up herd immunity. It all sounds very scary but if they don't do it now people will just stop caring anyway.

In France the 'bisou' is back, vaccination uptake is fairly low, cases are rising rapidly in Paris (which usually empties for annual vacation on 14 July) with the Delta variant about 40% and already the authorities are warning the next wave is incoming. Sigh...
