Brilliant work Banbury...keep it up! As soon as Gov give the green light to public, we already know about, I predict sold out by COB 8th April
Haha don’t you start Rox. Great question, totally get you.
I think this sentence sums it up -
Generally speaking, the law of the sea stipulates that maritime countries essentially control their territorial waters from the shore out to a distance of 12 miles (19.3 km), the “12-mile limit.” Within this zone, all laws of that country apply.
So essentially same as you being on there land. It wouldn’t stop cruise lines sailing in International Waters and be Saga Pirates....but cannot dock for supplies.
Banbury - I’ll go 71% on the sweepstake.
Banbury - this doesn’t really help, but don’t want to blow my cover, message below.
Wow amazing thank you cross fingers for some bookings, yeh availability ok the fullest are the inaugural, 3rd July to Norway, and the great British isles, but still availability so all good at the min, some of the prices aren’t based on the lowest grade cabins as a couple have sold out. Let me know how it goes.
Can’t reveal source but Government have 100% given the Green Light for UK cruising.
As Gordon says though all about foreign cruising now.
Sum - Small world! Great village and community Actually from Bingley. Owned Baildon Travel before checking Farsley out for its fine residents with cash and potential haha
Haha Joe, enjoy too! Yep, just patience now.
But if your impatient - go to my business Facebook page - ‘Farsley Travel’ and look at the Saga offer on there :-)
Gordon yes. Customer sentiment is poor at the moment!? It’s like everyone is waiting for the 5th April. Everyone is sick of having things changed, moved, cancelled etc etc. So waiting for certainty. And I know the task force is lobbying for certainty, and not just a ‘Shapps Roulette’ approach as it was put.
My business partner works as well for the largest operator to Disneyland Paris. (And I mean £80 million turnover a year) just Paris not even Florida. Today not even 1 booking!
I do know someone involved with the Taskforce and wider connections but not keen on approaching? Or I might have a few Vodkas and change my mind. In fact sod I might as well!?
No worries, not doing a great job myself!
From experience, they wouldn’t put 100% on sale, because it could threaten to be oversold. And in these covid restricted circumstances that would make no sense and be foolish. And only to disappoint customers. It’s not like the old days when airlines just went for it, and if it was oversold, the airport will sort them on the next flight.
They have lots of selling distribution channels. Direct Sales from the website, over on the phone. Newspaper and Magazine.
There is approximately a network of 4000 travel agents in the UK able to sell them, through there shops, websites, and large online cruise travel agents like the likes of Cruise118. Cruise.co.uk etc etc. So keeping track of bookings would have to be monitored on an hourly basis to keep track. Makes no sense.
So as my contact mentions the ‘consolidation’. They have 80% of a ship to fill. 1st, Call all the existing customers, see who wants what.
After they have been rebooked, they can sell whatever of the remain 80% is left. Does that make sense?
BB they are running at 80% capacity I know that 100%. So what is on sale is what is left to sell. So your average 54% would equate to being only 26% left to sell, on a very broad average across the cruises??
I’m a ‘ship’ half full kind of guy. Not half empty :-)
So the 54% would be all those already booked on previously cancelled trips, and now on these, so only another 50% ish to fill on general sale now. That looks pretty good to me!
They’ve only been on sale 6 hours.
Now on general public sale after offering to previously cancelled customers first ‘consolidation’ . Have a look next week Banbury...and I’ll also ask from the ‘inside next week see where we are. Far too early to tell.

I just found this - Didn’t know there was a ‘Maritime Minister’?
The announcement – from Maritime minister Robert Courts – that domestic cruise sailings could restart from 17 May, was the first step

‘A say what a like, and I like wot a say’
Don’t forget these are from prices. So just the lowest possible, and on a particular date usually as well. So they can get around trading standards. Standard rooms, doesn’t include the more expensive cabins etc
