…..’if the war in Ukraine ends and Russia withdraws; given their recent failings. They have already withdrew from large areas that were under their control’.
Not much chance of that, given that Putin is trying to involve Belarus, with another attack from the north and getting supplied with weapons from them.
Could be a long haul and not just contained to the territories of Ukraine.
@Broadfordbay
I can agree with much of what you are saying regarding the situation in Ukraine. My feeling is that you might have visited the country once or twice?
I can’t offer any real wisdom or predict where this company (GKP) is heading medium or long term, I’ve been wrong to many times before. However I do have a very good understanding of the Ukraine situation, due to having business from market up to government level and completely involving myself in their culture, over many years.
What I do despair at is the total lack of knowledge and understanding of the cultures and workings of Ukraine and Russia, by the people put in charge of trying to solve the problems. The MSM have and are still lacking in basic understanding. A simple mistake of even not addressing the country correctly, as in ‘ The Ukraine’.
You would hope that the BBC and Sky news would professionally be able to report the situation, not to mention our foreign Secretary! … on the other side Putin has been working towards this day for years. He knows that there has never been a better time to advance his carefully worked out strategy.
As for it being quick and decisive, well no. Ukraine has a huge capability to not only defend its self, but to attack and escalate.
They are very calm and are prepared to suffer another extreme long hardship. So long as the UK and US show support I don’t believe they will want to expand any potential war.
So am I correct in thinking that Broadfordbay has been on Ukraine territory?
You know nothing on this subject, unless you were a former ambassador to Ukraine or other important high ranking officer, in which case I would probably have met you, so just shut up.
No one knows what Putin will do next. Many know what he wants and some, including myself, know what he will face.
Nothing to smile about, I’m there next week.
If he does invade, which is highly likely because he thinks he can, then it will be a major conflict. Ukraine will fight very hard and have a massive capability.
Crimea and the Donbas was a tester, which had little resistance from the West. Now Putin has his eyes on the big prize of Ukraine, before pushing onto the other former USSR republics.
‘’The interesting question is what's a company that produces $100m per annum (or whatever other number you propose) worth? How much should I pay for it today?’’
Erm… A much lower figure than most here have been waiting years to receive, is my guess!
Putup, Do you spend as much time, challenging and managing expectations of the other companies that you claim to be invested in?
I’m wondering why a so called multi millionaire, who claims that his share holding of GKP, is only 5-7% of his total portfolio, is able to devote so much time to it, even posting on a Saturday evening . Do you have the same dedication with your other investments?
You came on here as an instant expert, with a condescending manner, so it not surprising that still your posts are viewed with suspicious.

Haven't waited over 10 years to be mugged for 4 pence per share. 4 p !
It was much more than that before oil was found or GKP had any real infrastructure and the SP reached well over £4.
The world still needs oil and will for many many more years to come.
Yeah I seem to remember daily SP gains of 40p + 40 quid in today's money.
What does it do nowadays?
Simon Murray, whatever happened to him, wasn't he a bit of a legend in business and life?
As our chairman how many shares did he buy and at what price?
Very sad to hear about this and so quickly too after first hearing that Mikey was ill. Condolences to his family.
The passion and time he put into GKP was second to none. I hope that the BOD understand that they are there to serve and represent such people in the best possible way and not just reap what they can for themselves.
