Lots of small shareholders (like me) are uneducated in metal mining, so what guides us is Alien Metal's announcements, and then, what the shareholders post on the sharechat:
2 years ago this was an EXPLORATION company hoping to discover something valuable . . . and now it's a MINING company sorting out where to dig for the best iron ore and silver.
We have to think in years not weeks. It's not easy to be patient, but pulling metals out of the ground takes time.

A bright end to a dull Friday: silver and gold both up 1.9%. A nice strong push up by all precious metals, especially good to see gold get over the $18.50 an ounce mark.

That little word "gold' in the RNS. Don't underestimate how much a rising gold price would lift the other metals.
The management points to "strong market dynamics for silver and copper": I guess that means they foresee an upturn in price in the coming months and years. If they're right, the investors who are cautious today will be joining us soon enough.

Still around 5x5, and still watching the silver price. (I only get to post when I"m indoors, anywhere else I need a password which I've forgotten.) Last time I got enthusiastic on here, the price dropped, so I'm more cautious now.
I'm always impressed by the support regular posters give to Alien Metals. But then it's a great company.

And in the background, I've been watching the palladium price these last 6 months, and it has been rising constantly as though in a world of its own . . .

Thank you DSFLAT for pointing me to the website "coingecko.com", it's a good source of Bitcoin news.
So it seems like several small boosts to the Bitcoin price came together last week and pushed it up, rather than one big one. Very helpful for us Quantum holders.

After many months of doubting whether I've invested in the right place, suddenly this afternoon everyone wants to be invested in Quantum. Nice!
Still I would like to ask again my question from the weekend: does anyone know why Bitcoin suddenly broke out and moved up on Friday afternoon.? There must have been a specific trigger, and it would help us all in the long run to know what it was.

The rise of crypto is global, and we can be sure that Quantum's efforts to produce super-speed are being attempted by clever groups of people all over the world.
However, when the global community of investors smells a rising commodity in the air, they pile on to any and all companies even half-connected to that commodity, regardless of their level of success.
If Bitcoin continues Friday's shoot upwards, Quantum will flourish, so will Argo, Valereum and all the other companies vaguely connected to crypto. I saw this jumping onboard a few years ago will gold and I expect to see it again with crypto this year or next.
Go Bitcoin, go Quantum.

The last week in January was the first smooth week upwards for Bitcoin, and Quantum, in several months: any ideas why it stalled?
I read that Paypal did very badly today (25% down), but why would crypto follow Paypal?
I was just getting into hopeful mode, and today shattered it.
Bummer!

I wouldn't drive my nieces and nephews in a second-hand car sold to me by the management of this company, but maybe trust is not essential to invest here. There is massive global interest in crypto, and a group of clever people aiming to make a buck from it could well pull us less clever ones along with them to jackpot land.
I like the name change, I like the RNS late on a Friday and the I like the fact that Reuters covered it.
And I especially like the newfound strength in Bitcoin this past week. About time Bitty!!

Nothing sensible about this January crash. Let's get on with business: Quantum Blockchain rocks.

I also boarded Quantum at over 3p . . . since then I've sold and jumped back on twice, leaking money each time, but I'm glad I'm still here.
Argo has done well today because Bitcoin rallied, and because their share price is too low . . . but also because they've LOOKED AT QUANTUM and realised that R&D is essential in this fast-developing crypto world, and they're giving 10% of their profit to it.
They're much more established than we are and their shares cost 85p, compared to our 2.5p: when crypto gets moving this year (the whales nibbled at Bitcoin today), investors will see that Quantum shares can rise X28 before we get to Argo's price.
How tempting is that?
