Nice strong price movement after the Fed rate cut, so "buy the rumour, sell the news" didn't apply this time.

This upward price movement began the last week of July: UFO has been nearly two months on the upswing. Not looking like a flash in the pan.

Maybe the price will finish with a flourish on this important rate decision day?

A zigzag movement upwards will do me nicely, I'm no good at timing the top of a spike. Happy to see silver making steady progress.

Very nice bit of UFO strength first thing, and I agree with B Positive, bonkers is the right word for the silver price right now, $42.11/oz. A US rate cut next Wednesday is "widely expected" says the BBC.

It would be wonderful if the iron ore price were to edge upwards in the coming months, along with the precious metals. Maybe that's a bit too jammy to hope for.

I'm hoping for a slow and steady increase in interest rates so that silver can follow upwards slowly and steadily over a few years. That would make it easier for me to stay sensible and hold onto my shares.

It's great to see the silver price staying above $40/oz. The historical silver chart at Kitco.com is easy to read and shows two peaks in the last hundred years, 1979 and 2011. Each time the price was pushing $50/oz, and this current rise looks very seriously like it could be the third peak. Doing my best to stay calm here.

Gold and silver are heading slowly towards the green, that would help UFO finish the week nicely.

Hargreaves has currently got the buy price a digit higher than the actual price, shows the strength of today's trading. Oh happy days.

Each time the price dips and bounces back up in a second I feel a little happier.

I made a few bucks here between 10p and 20p, then wandered off. Don't I wish I'd stayed!! Anyway, happy to be back.

It's very likely the US interest rate decision on September 17th will be downwards, and that should mean precious metals heading upwards, and UFO too. Fingers crossed.

A week or two of the price being flat, or down a little, would do me fine: the recent rises have been extraordinary. As long as we don't lose our gains, we're laughing.
