There’s no question Ocado needs a shake up at the top. But will that come anytime soon? Let’s see what next week brings. But that spike to 400p I was hoping (or dreaming?) to sell out at is looking less likely at the moment…

Agreed, I’m in a similar position. Over 3 years later, still waiting for that post-Covid recovery. This has been one of the worst shares I’ve ever bought. Figure we may as well hang on a bit longer as ex div tomorrow, pick that up, then see what the coming month or two holds before making a decision to sell at a loss…

Yes, I only became interested in this share last summer due to its volatility and the potential to make a quick buck if the entry and exit are timed correctly. It worked well for me for a while. For those invested before that, this share must be a dog. I do think it’ll come good again to some degree but it’ll take time. In the meantime, selling this share when it spikes and pushes you into a decent profit is the way to go with this one. Then wait for the next dip. The fly in the ointment is if the dips keep getting lower…but in my opinion, 270 could be near the bottom, barring any further major negative news of course.

My feeling is that both times the sp has hit the 270s, it’s bounced back up quite quickly, suggesting some resistance there. Having said that, both ventures into the 270s were for different reasons. The pausing of Sobeys contract in July, then a pull down before retail results in January. Could it go lower? Potentially, but my gut feeling based on the above is not much and not for long.

I’d say OCDO is just treading water rather than looking good for now. At least it hasn’t fallen any further yet…

This is Ocado…positive FY results and it could easily spike to 400p! Unlikely to maintain it though…

Nice rise today with the FTSE. I wouldn’t normally get excited about a 1% rise but this could be significant in establishing a good baseline around the 330-340 level or better in the run up to FY results. If this range is indeed consolidated, then we could possibly push up to £4+ following positive FY results…just my opinion.

Let’s see. Hopefully the ascent will continue to break away from the 3 month moving average and give some upward traction ahead of the results.

The atmosphere on this board changes as much as the share price. On a down day, apparently the price is going down to sub-270 then on a good day, the next stop is 400. My conclusion = no-one really has a clue.

It was a crazy volatile time. I remember there was a big drop the day before the results on a peculiar analyst downgrade, then a surge at the open on results day after an auction, then it trickled all the way down to finish lower before resuming the previous rise.

A similar pattern also emerged after Ocado Retail results in September. Drag down before, soar at open on results day then trickle back down, before resuming a rise.

These latest Ocado retail results showed some similar volatility (dragged down before then up on results day open) but without the trickle back down again on results day. The question is will we see the post-results rise like in September. Just my rambling thoughts.

These trends nicely show that last time OCDO dropped into the 270s in summer 24, the following update propelled it to the mid 400s. Let’s hope for this scenario 🤞

It has done this on the last two quarterly earnings reports, but it’s going to be a tough ask from where the share price is now, as it rose from a higher base then. Think there would need to be an announcement of two new CFCs alongside the retail news, which isn’t going to happen as it’s a retail statement…but we can dream…

Now we’re into the new year, I’m predicting we’ll see something of a rise in the run up to results, followed by a bounce first thing on results day if results are good. Purely based on trends prior to the previous two sets of results…

If this repetitive posting for the past who knows how many months were true, you’d expect the share price to be in the 100s by now. In reality, it’s cycled up and down mostly between 300 and 400 since April/May time.

I can’t see how that makes it a “straightforward short”. Maybe before April/May yes, but not since.
