Hi - it's a fair point you raise - bytheway Opium - you win, as I no longer have a clue as to where you are coming from any longer - have a nice life - now back to Manics - having studied Stocks and Shares for around 48 years now, I am always amused at characters shouting out that I know nothing - just have opinions - well, if you like, but why not - but I will respect what you have to say as and when you have been there, done that, and got a wardrobe full of T-Shirts - I must admit that I have never been a number cruncher - I just develope a feel or a hunch for a share being likely to take off, or not - However, I have acquired a good feel for shares over a long time now - a number of posters on here will probably vouch for that - some told me they made a packet out of my thoughts a couple of years ago on here - you will, of course, very predictably slack off this response but no probs it will simply confirm that you have a lot to learn - but there we go - that's life - All the best for now my friend - Cheers - The Knowing Kid , not the number cruncher Kid !! Here's to the Olde Trouts up river -
Hi - yes, it certainly is my friend - I don't think holders should sell just at the moment, hence the HOLD, but I will be looking for the SP to be a bit lower before I pop back in - where is the unethical in that - just common-sense - now please stop worrying over trifle little matters like that and HOLD onto your glasses and enjoy the ride - Cheers - The Knowing Kid -
Hi to all the regulars on here - Hope you all had a splendid Christmas - you will know that I am a great fan of this gem of a recovery play stock - However, I am now out albeit temporarily - I will pop back in on any weakness in coming days leading up to post Christmas trading update - the very obvious problem that Dixons have is definitely with the pressure on margins - the competition is out there in various forms and they are causing the margins that Dixons can get away with to be badly curtailed - yes, sales are fantastic but profits are very tightly squeezed - Tescos and a few others are a bloody nuisance in this respect - Tescos are a very different operation to Dixons, but they are able to knock outthe electrical side of their stock at very tight margins just to encourage punters through the doors to then be tempted to buy their rip-off groceries etc. - I now regard this threat as more serious than I used to - John Lewis are another irritation - they have a considerable electrical side to their business and are very price sensitive and have an impressive sales attitude with staff being very useful when asked - so, all in all I still believe the business model that Dixons are now under-taking will come through stronger and stronger but it is also true that the pressure on margins could well be a considerable stumbling block to quick success and a good solid rise in the SP from here on - Will be happy to be proven wrong !! Cheers - The knowing Kid --
Hi - ok, let's just hope the results next time round are utterly dreadful - then, pray, we may be able to look forward to a sharp rise in the SP - till then, I will wish all the regulars on here a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year - GLA - The Kid -
Hi All - Up early today - let's be honest, yesterdays feeble rise was as surprising and disappointing as the Tuesday plunge - the big bounce seemed to be on the cards but, alas, failed to materialise - that said, last nights monster rise on the DJ is surely bound to give this a really good kick start in the morning opening - agree that Dixons is Dixons, is Dixons, is Dixons - no need to worry too much about new kids on the block - agree that if Lewisons take off then that just goes to prove that Dixons are indeed in the right business, but with a massive head start - still very happy with this ones future potential - GLA - Cheers - The Knowing Kid -
Hello my friend....glad to have been of some assistance....Martinesman - you seem to know nothing of Drax if you think he's a saddo who loses money then whines at others just because they do - Ho Ho - and in any case who the fracking hell are you - you ponse on here as a total one-off effort and just make a bloody fool of yourself - The knowing Kid -
Hi - pity I was unable to calm the markets with my own statement but, alas, I was busy with my foot - let's be blunt, no-one was expecting this to plunge today - virtually all on here fancied around 55p + by the end of the 17th - very surprising and disappointing - still, overall what is there to worry over ? - if you read all the details, before checking the markets reaction, you would fancy the SP would be up ! - we all know this one is only going one way overall, so let's just keep the faith and remain calm and measured over this rare bad day for this gem of a recovery stock - GLA - The Knowing Kid -
Good Morning - well, thanks for that - but I think you could have at least enquired as to how the foot is ! - just for those that are concerned it is still on the end of my leg, but I could do without it - the pain I mean not the leg - 0h Well - GLA - The Knowing Kid -
Keep the faith - some on here have quickly turned negative from being very positive just because of one odd trading day - no need to turn turn-coat just to try and fit in with the crowds as they try to convince themselves that they have called it right afterall, following todays oddball fall - ho ho - - most on here fancied this would rise to day but instead it fell - I certainly thought this was a certain riser in the last trading day before results - well there we go - nowt so queer as stocks and shares, is there - this will be 55p soonish - I admit that I called this one wrong by stating this would break the 55p barrier by the end of the 17th - just stick with it and be well rewarded - avoid the phonies though, that now say this is going to fall after saying this was a sure fire riser, just because todays events make them think it will now drift downwards - it's like these weather forecasters - on Monday they state snow for Thursday then on Tuesday its rain for Thursday - what's the bloody point - stay true to the cause - The Knowing Kid - ps...can any one tell I'm in a rotten mood after dropping a paving slab on my right foot -
Morning All...well, I am usually the one that calls it right on here - so, I am now predicting that the FTSE will have a truly rare trading day today, whereby it will finish entirely unchanged - let's wait and see before you all mock moi - Cheers - The knowing Kid - ps...my much touted 55p by end of the 17th is now, surprisingly, looking somewhat iffy - still rate it as 30/70 but the overall weak markets at the mo are not at all helpful - However, if it fails to breach this barrier then it will simply play catch-up soon after -
Hi.....Hmmm...700K - treasury must do very nicely out of you with all that capital gains tax - still, at least you are helping to keep the NHS going for which I am most grateful - I suppose yesterdays 0.45p drift was quite acceptable bearing in mind the weak markets - how very stupid and short-sighted the markets are to plunge on the back of continued growth in the UK/US economies - I know it could lead to higher interest rates but surely it is better overall for the markets to have genuine growth than to be artificially propped up by QE - Cheers - The Kid - ps...having a lie in this morning ! -
Hi - will be very interesting to see if this gem of a stock can still squeeze a rise out of what is likely to be a weak day for the markets - Cheers - The Kid -
Hi - I really do feel that it is far too much of a lottery asking staff how busy they are - different answers will be forth-coming depending on what day of the week it is, what time of day it was and exactly which member of staff you come across - the main point is that there seems to be every reason for believing the results will be very, very positive - the consoles war is just the ticket for Dixons - plus they sell what people must have - you can always find the money for your must-have and updated gadgets, but how easy it is to delay buying that new suit etc. - GLA - Cheers - The Kid -
Hi - morning - now come on lads - you'll get nothing just lounging around in bed - it's the whirly bird that catches the Erm - any rise in the morning kick-off will be impressive - markets are a little twitchy at the mo - Cheers - The Kid -
Hi again...well, certainly I would agree that Tescos are more of a comparison to flies in the summer than to wasps with rabies - good to see that even with the FTSE dipping away this still managed a small rise - was well up, then down, but still finished positive - a sign that investors are afraid of missing out on this one as December 17th approaches - GLA - are time duth cometh - Cheers - The Kid -
Hi - last posting was in response to YoungMavericks posting at 18.15 O Hundred Hours, Capt Mainwearing - Cheers -
Hi - Good Morning ! - hope we are both right but cannot agree that it is obvious - did agree with recent poster that sales of tablets from Tescos etc. is a nusience - completely different situation with them to Dixons - not attractive overall - but they have the advantage of being able to sell at almost no margins just to get punters through the doors to tempt them into buying the rip-off items else where - some little high street shops have cheaper groceries than this monster store - strange that, isn't it - Oh Well, the overall picture though is very strong and is there any business that dosen't have it's competitors - infact, Dixons has very few to worry about, but Tescos etc are bound to be takng some sales away - Dear Drax will disagree with me on this one but hey, we'll both get by - Here's to the 55p by 17th or, hopefully, post Christmas update etc - Cheers - The Kid -
and on it goes - upward and beyond - still sticking to my 55p barrier being bust by the 17th - Cheers -The Kid -
Helow - eye thort eye tolled yew two cleer orfe - Bi Bi - Tha Kidd - just noticed this is beginning to steam ahead - whoooshhh - exciting days ahead !!
Hi - yes, totally agree - although I really love this gem I must say that I for one am a wee bit exhasberated at how often this stock disappoints when it comes to any kind of continuous whooomphh re the SP - I have known shares move a lot faster in a northward direction with similar recovery stories backing them - Oh Well - will still stick to my 55p barrier being broken by the 17th, but we shall soon see if I will be disappointed once agin - that said - let's not overlook the fact that just 18 months ago this was 13p - so, in some ways there has already been a hugh rise , but just seems to have gone off the boil in recent times compared to the really good news flow that keeps on surrounding this stock - Cheers - The Kid -
