The rns you mention is about a vct offering & the link you put in to say that Mercia holds a larger amount of Native antigen goes nowhere, for me anyway.
So how much more does Mercia own and how much did they pay for this increase in their holding please ?

There is a positive RNS re MERC & covid19 this morning and we haven't seen your normal puff yet !
Actually the tie up with Oxford Genetics is imho a much better deal for Native than the previous plans. OG, although still small, has been very successful and is well connected to HMG, so I am led to believe.

Don't forget that all these companies need to actually make & sell before Merc sees the benefit, in reality, some will, some may not. If Merc has 3 balls in play how many more do you think that other private equity houses may have. Merc, as its share price/market cap illustrate are small players in a huge pond, the competition will be intense so I'd put those Monte Cristo's down for a while until the jackpot starts ringing

If you google sense biodetection you will see MERC is currently raising funds for this company which apparently is teaming up with phillips medieserve of the US to accelerate production of the sense instrument free point of care molecular device for Covid19. It is a nasal swab and the results take 10 minutes.
They do have sense as a holding, I believe very small, but the current fund raise has been done at 6 times the previous one, in round terms. Quite what impact this will have on their stock is impossible to tell, especially since they diluted the company with a vct manager at a very full price. My guess is when the finals come out we should see the impact, if any.
So I go back to the Thermidor, Boards to Tube for the B52s and Solstace to Twitter.

There is also a research piece from Edison Research out yesterday on Merc, it did mention Native but made no comment re possible impact on Mercia though it did say that the 22% cut in the vct's they bought in November is likely to follow through to the rest of the portfolio giving a nav of only about 25p.
However it did say that the fund management side will give a greater stability to earnings.
My problem with MERC is the way they issued stock at 40% discount to the previous close but cut out the PI's, staff were OK though, they were issued more options at the lower price.
That & other issues leave a nasty taste in the mouth re the management, which of course were very close to Woodford & Barnett.....

I see the CFO has become a larger crustacean at 14.4p, £25,000 worth in todays RNS.
I suspect it could be exercise of options, but don't know for sure. They do look after themselves well, those boys at MERC, so my guess is it was.

Pleasure to see you back on this board, but I distinctly recall you being mega bullish on this crock of crap in Sep/Oct when the price was around £9.
Now it is less than £2 you are at it again, but this company makes no profit, pays no divi and relies on crowds, which these days are illegal !
What am I missing ?

Actually lobster is a real favourite of mine but sadly MERC is unlikely to be buying me many at present.....

If you weren't always sharpening up your boring elbows you would have realised 2 things ;
1) 30% of bugger all is less than bugger all &
2) It may have slipped your attention that their purchase of Northern Investors, a vct group, last year which was expensive enough for Mercia itself to need a fundraising, at a big discount to the then market price, not to mention their (optimistic?) nav, which also cut out the P I's, has been somewhat less than successful ?
So much so that if you bothered to read yesterdays RNS they have had to write down the nav of the vct's assets by 22% & to make matters worse had to produce a new prospectus for the £40 million fund raise which is almost fully subscribed to reflect this disaster in the nav & offering all investors (in lockstep withe FCA) a chance to receive their subscriptions back.
Always a good idea to dyor (properly).

To my amazement, your "billion dollar stock" which you have posted about goodness knows how many times, does not appear to warrant a mention.
