.....when you do a share split they create a single share that carries 'all' the value and then a number of shares that have no value ..... so the value of the share remaining carries exactly the same value as it did on the exchange & in your account ... the 'deferred' shares have no value ....therefore the value of your holding remains the same as it would have done prior to the split but the Nominal value of the share is less .....
for example you have 1 share trading at 1p with a nominal value of 1p & they want to raise at a discount ....they're not permitted to raise below the Nominal share value (currently 1p) but want to raise at a discount of 20% (i.e. 0.8p) ... the only way to do this is create a share split so that the Nominal value is below 1p .... they could do a 2/1 split making the Nominal 0.5p or a 10/1 split making the Nominal 0.1p .... the single remaining trading share takes all the value of the raise price i.e. 0.8p so doesn't reduce the value of your monetary holding except by virtue of the raise itself .... which is why the fluff about the 're-oganisation' not affecting the value of your holding .... the deferred 'A' shares (9 of them in a 10/1) are the result of the split & carry no value & you can't use them to vote etc & are effectively irrelevant.....
"Does anybody understand this. There seem to be conflicting statements.
The Capital Reorganisation will not of itself affect the value of the shares held by Shareholders. After the Capital Reorganisation there will be the same number of New Ordinary Shares in issue as there are existing Ordinary Shares and therefore Shareholders will not be diluted (other than as a result of the Capital Raise)."
Yep ... they're doing a share split to accommodate the raise .... which means that with the 'discount' to the closing price that they'd have to offer they believe the raise might well be below the current 'Nominal' share price (1p) so a sub division is being proposed reducing the Nominal value of traded shares 0.1p thus permitting a raise at below 1p per share if necessary to provide a discount to the closing price on the last effective trading day prior to the raise being rubber stamped & effective.... it says it is still to be finally announced with a lot of fluff about the why's, how's etc ....

Yes nice piece of small (& I mean small) change from the $9M we converted our 30% JV holdings at 🤣 .... hopefully it'll improve (considerably!!) when they come out of the halt ....
That'll stop us selling anymore today/tomorrow....

I believe it likely that the 'owner' in this instance is simply the person(s) who made, are & own the booking & are responsible for the cargoes being loaded, provision of commercial documents, any licences/approvals etc and not necessarily the owner of the actual cargo itself ........ Given that Kiran has previously stated that DEV are acting on behalf of other 'shipper(s)' previously and we've not had any RNS's for previous shipments over the past months I'd be more inclined to believe we were acting on behalf of Geralds again (as we have previously & appeared similarly) rather than shipping the stockpiles the banks have control over ..... time will tell of course....
@10am ...no wait this afternoon...no wait tomorrow...no wait Friday...no wait next week...no wait next month...no wait next year....no wait next decade .....no wait what do you mean by significant rise & from where as it looks more likely the next movement will be another notch or two down currently..... buy low & sell high though eh....except the low keeps getting lower at the moment 🤣
Hi Suzy,
Apologies I said I wouldn't post again until Id bought back in (which I haven't yet!) but thought I'd stick my size 10's back in to help (I think) if you look at the vast majority of the small trades by clicking on the i (info button) at the end of the trade line you'll see they are under an SI trade which is an OTC mob reporting trades transacted ...... It's also why they're conducted either at the bottom of the bid or the top of the ask and often arrive in closely timed tranches .... as the OTC co will often report them in batches........ it's not for me but if you want to play around with piddly pocket money or loose change trades on a free OTC trading platform buying at the extremes of the bid & ask for which there seems to be plenty who are then I guess there's room for it..... 🤷🏼♂️
Hope that helps ...... Laterz 😁
Gotta hold my hands up Eric .... I decided to sell at 2.12 with over 40% profit on a £4k buy at 1.50 .... couldn't resist .... I've learnt not to sit on a good profit for too long on AIM at least .... Soz but on the plus side I promise I won't post again unless/until I buy back in .... which I very well might ....best of luck
I consider AIM CEO's simply as better paid politicians .. promise everything & deliver late or not at all whilst spreading disappointment in the current group in power.
I take what they say with a pinch of salt and watch the SP trend instead to buy & sell.
