This is a post of mine from last July
“From Callum’s interview :-
yeah well the original opportunity was identified through geophysical data sets for sure, so that was primarily airborne magnetics and also very helpful is ground gravity
- can get some fantastic data sets using ground gravity equipment these days and also using some sort of a bit left of centre geochemical techniques such as mobile metal ions, it's a bit of a blunt tool but it still sort of gives you an indication of whether you're in the ballpark or not and when you combine say that in a basic sense the three data sets such as aeromagnetic gravity and the mobile metal ions you can start to develop targets
- which is then when we deploy the 800 by 800 meter drill spacing to give us a flavour of how deep is the cover, how easy or difficult is it to drill through the cover sequence to get to the basement rocks, what are the basement rocks, what is the alteration sequence in the basement rocks and is it telling us that we're in the right ballpark and we managed to tick all those boxes with Ernst Giles
I think that statement broadly suggests how far Ernest Giles is in the exploration phase, ie very early exploration.
I’ve asked Callum what he thought was the best area and he said definitely Meadows could be 2 large structures there. I also asked about the strong MMI results at the Wishbone area in the NW where 2 RC drills were undertaken, he said that was another exciting area and as is Empress in the NE.
Well Meadows has 2 long NW-SE trending structures called Western and Eastern these could be where they are suggesting 2x5m oz targets.
Newmont also found another structure to the north of these 2, suggesting it’s running East -West perpendicular to the trend. There are no plans published on this.
Callum said in that interview they are only looking for elephants ie 5moz + targets, company makers not 100,000oz
Well Meadows certainly looks in that category, likely other candidates are Tabletop 1&2 and Rudall”
You can relate this to Scallywag still in its early days of exploration with no clear signs yet of an “elephant” just 100k type targets
