Alanrory, on the pcr test Ygen should be great on price as they control costs from start to finish + the sequencing. No other company can do this apparently.
As a one stop shop then that must be a big plus and makes it easier to order all under one roof.
We know they have govt contacts/contracts with NIPT and DPYD products. Not sure if that will help at all?
I know it will stand them in good stead already being a govt supplier, so are a known company and they have a good record to date.
Not sure how well they will do with other aspects of the four lots, but at least they are there, ready, willing and able.

of course we won't know what in house products will produce. Who knows it could be far far better than covid revenue?

those figures, are they gross or net profit margins?

don't forget the 100 + a day is transactions. Each transaction could be 1/2/3/4 or more. I would think the majority of transactions are more than one test sale.

not impossible at all. Some of those govt contracts will be fairly hefty for some, why not Ygen? I am a little surprised they still call for pcr tests on all four lots. Not a problem. Ygen do a decent one by all accounts, all in house too, which might help the buying process.

I think that core business will bounce back quite a bit this year. Especially in the US now that nipt is being covered by insurance companies for all pregnancies, not just high risk.
I do also think that Ygen has a massive opportunity near term with the govt framework agreement. I just cannot see how Ygen won't win a decent share of the spoils after making it onto all four lots. We are up against only 8 others on one £2.5 Billion lot. Surely it must happen,....then again????

just one of the other few hundred competitors out there. I see their tests are dearer and also they don't have the premier pharmacy high street brand backing them.

framework orders are more important for me, along with the core stuff of course. Not sure we are anything to do with the surge testing.

depends who the customer is? MHC/Boots won't be that great, but the other outlets should be a lot better. We know last year they used to charge about £50 per test/lab work, so who knows? I would hope across the board it will into double figures profit. Any govt work should be a decent margin though.

I think they needed to show 10k daily to get onto the govt tenders, as the govt specify 10k minimum capacity. I doubt they will hit 10k just on travel alone. Anyway they need to bear in mind any potential govt contracts as they could be big numbers too.

looking at the list of suppliers and MHC look very competitive on price bar one or two. There are doubts if these and other outfits will be able to cope so could well be a nightmare. Offering cheap tests very often comes with a poor service, as mentioned by the jet 2 ceo. We will see!

there is also a 25 second test that blows avct out of the water..pmsl! BA are testing it right now!!

Cos until there is anything else that can sequence for variants and LFT CANNOT, then PCR IT IS!!

PCR are needed for tracking variants, sequencing etc.Sorry Chap your Avct pump test can't do that can it?
