nobody knows the numbers, hence the need for an update and even then they may not give us anything financial. We do know that initially we are only doing a couple of components towards the test/kits, but that could develop into doing the full kit. Ncyt we know are cranking up to 8m units per month, so it's anyone's guess how much of that will come to Ygen.

I think it's safe to say whatever is going on Ygen will be very very busy. We must not forget the work for NHS testing too. It is probably a blessing that the CE approval hasn't dropped yet because heaven knows how they would cope with that as well.

why would Ygen be mentioned on the Rns? It was about other support to existing manufacturers, which have already been rns'd a while ago. I would guess that Ygen will, if not now then pretty soon will be making the whole kits, not just a couple of components. Also don't forget Ygen does it's own world class products too. They are very pleased to be able to assist NCYT and will contribute in a big way imo.

I take it you are on about Ygen? Nice thoughts, but seriously!? I have read that the NCYT tests go for around £7/8 a pop in this country and sell for about $14/15 in the US.
NCYT capacity is only 4m a month so not sure how Ygen can make 5m??

well, I think I can safely say it won't do a Ncyt! Yes, this certainly can achieve a quid. at least the ceo reckons it can be £500m or more mcap. Not sure how much research you have done but go on their website and look up the presentation vids Lyn Rees has done and it's very impressive. Ygen are unique in their own way as they supply nipt tests to both Thermo Fisher and soon Illumina platforms/equipment. They are the only company to do this and it's like being able to supply/use both android and Apple, so best of both worlds as we have the two biggest players in the world as our partners.

yes! maybe you should. It amazes me that these people expect Ygen to follow Ncyt gains. I would rather slow and steady than short term/day traders et al coming in with the pump/dump then off chasing the next rainbow.

with the total balls up the govt are making of testing then not surprised if there are no tests to test as yet. Would have thought they would be flat out on the NCYT stuff though. Yes, an update is now overdue.

NiptSteve, as Ygen have done the CE mark accreditation before with their own Iona test, then I would think they will be spot on with what was needed to be submitted. My guess it's more to do with these unprecedented times we are all in. Things are just taking longer than usual. Surprised you say that Ygen labs were all closed over the break, maybe things ain't that busy atm?

Thing is though it did hit, and Ygen are very likely doing very well at present and near/mid term.We already know business has been 'resilient'. I can't see many over at NCYT moaning about what if the virus hadn't hit,..it DID and they are riding the wave!! Perhaps we can do it a little bit too?
