jascott; about sums it up I think. I see the govt have shelved airport testing, at least for now. That hype at Heatrow about setting up labs with rapid testing/others etc isn't happening anytime soon it seems. Suppose it's good news for Ygen as it will means that 'private' aviation testing will keep going strong no doubt.

Steve, it doesn't need many mate! A handful selling can easily keep a lid on the sp. But yes, generally agree there might not be as many as there once was. Just need upbeat Covid numbers now I guess. I would hope that the second 10k batch is somewhere near too.
Also taking their time with answers from the customers they sent Clarigene samples to around 5/6 weeks ago, and will this 'moonshot' project really ever get going I wonder?

unfortunately since March nothing other than Covid news is relevant to many here now it seems, especially the newbies. Even when Covid news comes I expect they will all be disappointed because the numbers are not into hundreds of millions of ££££, then most sell out. lol.

well I think the average for those first 2k was about $550 apiece, and that was with the heavy discounting at the time. No reason to think they can't achieve that this time around.
Will all these customers risk being registered as adult/porn sites for the sake of a few hundred dollars? I doubt it! Last time around there was no rush as there was still two years to go, so human nature says wait. This time they won't have that facility/cushion as there is a finite timeline of Nov 2021 I believe it is.
It will be a very easy sell imo, especially when customers are told of potential consequences they might not be aware of.

Hampster, no offence , but considering you have been in Ygen for some time you are not very clued up are you chap! Have a look at the Yourgene website under infectious diseases.

Hamster, we did supply a couple of 'parts' to Ncyt early on, but Ygen decided to do their own kit/test and both went their own ways.
Ygen now have an approved pcr test named Clarigene and will be supplying them wordwide. As for testing they are now doing 10k private tests per month and are upping the capacity as we speak. Also, they are in talks with the govt to do testing on the 'moonshot' project. So very busy with all the news to come.

there is no reason to think why they can't capture 30/40k+ of those 65k (or is it 80k) Ablock target sales next year. It could well be even more considering what could happen if companies don't secure them and they get scooped up by 'bad actors' or whatever the term is.

Steve, I don't think Ncyt process their tests, they just sell. Depending if they get anywhere with the 'moonshot' work then that could be big numbers for Ygen. That's why I ask just how far they will push the boat out. Yes, £15/20m on top of core could well be doable. However, I think there is much much more business if they can hack it.
As for airport testing I read that they might now do a pcr test with a 4 day quarantine period and do away with the original idea of airport tests.
