I’d say you pretty much covered it.
However I don’t think the Mondi share price will fall if they are successful with their current bid. If you agree they’re getting a bargain it should help their share price long term. It does seem that Smds has agreed this bid so I can’t see why it would fall through but it is always a risk. I’m staying because I see a,b and c being the most likely outcomes. Looking at how the smiths sp has reacted I think a is the most likely but they all represent an increase in the current sp.
I won’t be selling for 2 reasons, it is a low ball offer, which means mondi is getting a bargain so it should benefit the mondi share price long term especially if they can get good cost savings which should be easy. Secondly in think the 373 has been put out there for others to beat if they want to. It looks like a deal is going ahead and it will be for 373 or above( obviously depending on what happens to Mondi sp but at this price I don’t think many would say they are overpaying.)
Well they all know the price to beat now. This opportunity won’t come around again.
Hopefully the bid will bring out some American money.
We will see tomorrow what the market thinks. I don’t think it’s enough.
Silver knocking on 25 and Fres can’t get to £5. Really out of favour.
I can’t remember the last bad news here.
The North Sea oil was a double edged sword. It artificially inflated the £ damaging our manufacturing and exports. Maggie broke the unions for that alone she deserves credit
All they have done is stated what several people on here have always said. There’s no reason Tui can’t get back to pre Covid market cap.
What has changed that makes people think Covid caused a sea change in peoples holiday needs? If anything it made people appreciate holidays more.
Did covid damage Tui’s brand? No.
The capital raises damaged investor sentiment, which will take time to come back but IMO Tui is the same beast it was pre Covid so no reason it’s not valued the same.
It’s something to do with a5. Lol the only bit in English. Side track?
There’s a new Bico tender but I can’t make it translate. Anyone got any ideas?
Just look at Wincanton, Uk listed shares are getting snapped up because they are not being properly valued. Just because Smds was trading below £3prior to the bid doesn’t mean a 30% uplift will seal the deal. I really do think the bid will have to be in excess of £4. Whether they will be prepared to pay that is another issue.
Also I think the messages on here show how the change of listing is destabilizing the sp, casual investors aren’t going to be buying Tui shares. I’ve been adding consistently once the dust settles on the move Tui should be valued on its business rather than where it’s listed.
Mike what interest is tui paying on remaining kfw facility?
Good luck olda couldn’t hold for the 1750 eh? I obviously think selling was a mistake as I still hold. Any plans for the money? I’m hoping gsk has the wind in its sails now. I’m hoping they they know what they are doing settling these cases. Once the Zantac litigation is over I can’t see what will hold this back from getting the same rating as it’s peers.
Tracker funds couldn’t start selling until it was a done deal. Therefore I don’t think it was priced in, those shares couldn’t become available until after the vote. There will be excess supply for a while I believe, it’s just a matter of how much other participants see tui as a bargain and when they snap them up knowing shortly the German trackers will have to buy reversing the supply/ demand dynamics.
Savage by next year interest rates should be falling, putting more money in peoples pockets and increasing employment.
Too much short sightedness here imo. The sp is down imo because of the de listing. It’s created more sellers, those who don’t want to own foreign shares. This is a short term issue which will swing the other way come June. Take advantage, delisting has no effect on the business which is doing really well. It may fall more but I believe by next year the sp will have appreciated significantly.
If we just tried to flow it that would block it in no time. :)
How many times has this been said but surely news this week?
