Any one else visualizing billy bunter furiously scribbling his homework?
Maybe the settlement is to put off a the ambulance chasers? If it’s not a lot then the rest won’t take these cases knowing there is no big mega money payday at the end.
That’s the question am I wrong or is the market?
The whole point in investing is seeing where the market is incorrectly valuing a company and then buying. I believe this is such a case, this is now my largest holding, and I will keep buying if it goes even lower. With a healthy dividend I hope this stays down so I can acquire more.
What more could you ask for? Well run company
If the dividend is cancelled some serious questions need to be answered regarding the competency of the management.
I avoid promoting Caspian on social media because of situations like this. How can you have faith in what a company says if it can’t even complete its stated dividend policy? Some may say unexpected costs have arisen. I would reply they in no way should have been relying on 802 given their past success rates with deeps.
Does anyone know how Greece is faring? They were bankrupt when rates were nearly zero, the rest of southern Europe can’t be far behind.
Apparently we are in a cost of living crisis. If they can deliver results like this even in bad times I can’t think of a better place to park my money.
I agree I just added any announcement regarding the divi and this goes back in to the 6’s. I think the boat deal safeguards the dividend, even if we miss one quarter knowing it’s coming back should give a lift.
You’re not missing anything, nor did the market
I’ve got to say Caspian is becoming farcical. They say they introduced the divi to attract investors then mess everyone around by not keeping the market informed. The boat deal screams dodgy, and as for the reason an oil exploration company exists, they do nothing. The management needs replacing, but they won’t because they are working for the benefit of the major shareholders to the detriment of us pi’s.
The management don’t care about the sp, the concert party aren’t going to get out with a share marketing scheme, so of all the conspiracy theories I think we can discard this one. I think the divi was to help someone with a cash flow problem. It was too soon and seemed rushed.
My personal conspiracy theory is they messed up 802 due to Caspian empolyees incompetence and they think oil will flow with a competent crew doing the work.
Unfortunately you can drive a bus through these rules and dear old Clive knows it. Without an rns anything could happen.
Paul you’re just saying what we’re all thinking, without Bico tenders I would have started selling. However that is the best information we have to go on and that looks positive, hence the majority sitting on their hands. If they say they have to cancel this quarters divi because they have needed it to increase production AND they have have increased to 5k+ I think the market would react positively. If they’ve used the divi money and achieved little then we’re in trouble.
I’m finding the lack of a sell off reassuring, normally on aim this sort of uncertainty is punished.
With Caspians history incompetence has to be favourite.
In my experience most people haven’t changed their spending. rates will need to go a lot higher. All the printed money needs to be taken out of the system. As always the people at the bottom will suffer the most.
I expect rr to get the nod but the conservatives will want it fresh in the electorates memory so the green light won’t come until nearer the election. An attempt to buy northern voters.
I see absolutely no reason not to pay a dividend. It might start small but the whole reason to rush to pay off the German government was to allow the payment of dividends. Debt is now manageable, hopefully the business is going great guns. I don’t see an excuse not to pay dividends.
I think they are paying cash so the value of Gsk will remain the same, assuming this company is worth the price.
