Easy really. If you make the law you can’t break the law…Evan, no-one is saying all NHS workers are angels and that Boris is evil. Boris is the head of a government that made laws around covid, people were fined for breaking those laws. Boris and his gang have broken the law and therefore should suffer the consequences.
As for other countries that are less corrupt. What the f**k has that got to do with anything? The DRC is very corrupt therefore Boris is not?

What you say is very possible, there is every chance that Russia won’t invade. I guess what I’m trying to say is that both sides are playing games.
I can’t express how much I hope that there isn’t an invasion and not just because of EUA. There will be many innocent lives lost if it does happen.
Toon, agreed!
There is a propaganda war going on here as well. Some posters portray the BBC as disseminates of lies and propaganda but yet are happy to take Russia Today at face value. What’s good for the goose is good and all that…

I do have some sympathy for your point although evidence and fact checking are vital to any reasoned argument otherwise anyone can shout ‘fake news’ or provide false fact to back up an agenda driven arguement. The truth is that everything is subjective to some degree or other.

You raise some interesting points around American aggression etc.
The fall of the Berlin Wall heralded a new era for NATO and with that went some serious miscalculation from NATO, along the lines of “we won”. That view point was based on the flawed concept that the Cold War could be won and that there was an end point. The truth is the Cold War could never be won, only lost (disengaged with), and by re-drawing the lines of occupation and declaring game over, NATO and America showed some serious complacency which is now coming back to haunt them. Having said all that, the Ukraine situation is a Putin tactic aimed to deliver his long term strategy of “Make Russia Great Again”. Another tactic used to pursue this strategy is to demonstrate that the hand of Russia can reach anywhere and that the motherland never forgets i.e. the Salisbury poisonings.
In conclusion, if you go back far enough you will probably find the first person to ever throw a stone and place the blame for every war since at their feet. If you look at the current situation then Putin is definitely the aggressor.
Just to clarify, I read a wide variety of media and draw information from many sources before I form an opinion on something. I am also fully aware that it is just an opinion and I happy to be convinced differently by a good argument and evidence…
Morning Les, really sorry to hear your news. I hope that whilst you deal with consequences of what is happening to your wife and your family that you find strengths and depths to your relationship that you hadn’t realized were there before. There will be sad times ahead but also very positive and life affirming moments on your journey!
