Does anyone know if Entain also reported 'customer friendly results' , I think this has spooked the market a bit, since it feels like its always an excuse with this lot. Same thing last year, and then the marketing impact surprise in H1. I'm not too worries though, even if the budget has higher taxes the industry will likley consolidate, this will be a prime target for someone

Understandable bit of a tree shake so far this AM, but 'should' head up soon after and will probably bounce around til post-budget. Looking like the budget will be little to worry about, maybe some minor increase in tax but nothing in the scale the market reacted to. Long term, no change to outlook expected

Second time this week the gov have downplayed the Guardia article rumours. Results acceptable on first look.

Let's hope so. EVOK seemed to hint low retail footfall was hitting the broader industry in their last calls. Which quiet frankly was a load of BS looking at competitors. They have no excuses now.

Positive recovery from Entain today and Flutter also on the up, great to see their CEO putting forward the argument against tax increases.

The main thing I ask is are people ceasing booking flights? Has the post-covid trend gone away or likely to? I also see a pick-up in business travel which should be much bigger in 2025 and more favourable for non-budget airlines and high margin seats

Bellway was expected, Vistry not. Plus some more noise about interest rates..even though any change is unlikely to impact mortgage rates really. Positive call from Bellway, this in this sector are heading up, be it some hesitations around this budget. All imo..

Good piece in today’s FT by Louise Lucas on why the suggested tax increases wouldn’t makes sense, and the drop in share prices is an overreaction. Many other analysts are starting the same. Essentially no point taxing businesses entire profits away with the jobs this would put at risk. But let’s see..

The news in oil prices cannot be underestimated, oil is the biggest drag on airline profits. No matter what happens in the ME, this cannot stop the inevitable rise of this stock. About time too as it's remarkable this is still laggging from covid. The next earnings report is not far away and will be hugely positive, higher profits, more debt paid off, and more bookings. Exciting times. Some work needed to do at BA in terms of service imo, but the financials are all looking great.

Well, the gov have put housing/planning as their number 1 growth strategy. Do you think they can afford to fail politically on this? They will never meet the targets but will have to do everything they can to be seen to try and at least improve numbers. They also have to work with, and encourage tthe developers to build, so all this nonesense about 50 percent affordable just won’t fly with them. They will give in on any tough demands. PLUS natural supply and demand will get this going towards 20 soon enough.

If Q3 targets are met this should reassure enough, and rally alongside the broader Q4 rally post budget / US election / santa rally, providing no surprises. Will likely stay around these levels without any new news..

1-month since the biz confirmed they were 'on track' for Q3, with strong insider buying since and strong commentary from Entain on the UK market this period coming out yesterday. Good omens? Not long til we find our as part of the Oct update, but very little movement here

The comment on the second call regarding industry consolidation led me to think the same too..
