Average UK house prices have risen above £300,000 for the first time, according to figures from lender Halifax.

The average price of a UK home increased 0.7% in January, reversing a 0.5% fall in December. The rise pushed the typical property value to £300,077, while annual house price growth accelerated to 1% from 0.4% the previous month.

Evoke won't be mentioned as they already reduced marketing spend, Flutter and Entain spend much more. This may level the playing field a little in terms of prominence and promotions

Based on the latest results, Evoke's leverage has already fallen from 5x7 to 5.0 leverage and cashflow now comfortably covers interest, so debt is moving down. Not up.

The reports sound credible and means total realistic EBITDA impact is only –6% to –10%, AND the debt still gets paid down.

- Retail sports betting no change

- Horseracing no change

- Online sports betting slight rise

- Remote gaming duty (casino) moderate rise

- Machines duty higher, but machines are only 17% of revenue

- International revenue unaffected

This gives a group-wide EBITDA impact of just –6% to –10%, not the –25% to –35% previously feared.

Even after a 10% EBITDA hit, Evoke still generates £320m–£330m in EBITDA. nterest costs remain ~£150m, leaving £170m–£180m of operating cashflow before capex.

Can you kindly share your calculations that shown any difference from this analysis? Even if not all the FT points are accurate and tax is higher than reported, unless the scenerio is much worse, debt still gets paid down?

Which would point to this being very oversold (if article is accurate), the drop from 70 was from fear, not fundamentals

Government insiders have told the FT to expect a fairly conservative rise in gambling taxes. Key points include retain sports betting to stay at 15%, horse racing completely except, only slight rise to online sports betting. If true this could be a multi-bagger. If not it could be 0!

Thanks for sharing the call details. I had planned to dial in myself but got distracted. I must say 10% rise is very conservative, but a profit is a profit. I am impressed how they have handled the current market conditions, all we need are some macro help, such as interest rates falling, and I see no reason why this shouldn't shoot up. I have to say I wouldn't invest in other HB's and def not TW who overplay the macro and may bad decisions

Will drop and rise as per all shares on the route up, but trend is there.I'm happy to hold the full allocation, aiming for 22+ on this.
