Kaz v Bhp23 Apr 2020 08:10
Roughly you get 3 Kaz shares for 1 BHP,so to keep the numbers easy you buy 21,000 Kaz or 7,000 BHP at a cost of about £86,000
We now move forward several months and assume that the share prices go back to the last 12 month highs to see what we are now worth
So for Kaz it was 7.40 which equals 155,400 and BHP was 20.50 which equals
143,500
Now the hard bit assuming both pay the same dividend for Kaz 12c and BHP 1.20 assuming they dont pay any special dividend,so a difference of 1.08 or about 87p,we can now add 7,000 at 87p to the BHP total about £6,000
So overall Kaz still on 155,400 and BHP on 149,500 so a difference of about 6,000 and with very little risk
Having no idea how much people invest in a company I could be way out in peoples expectations of how much they would like to make each year and whether they think £6,000 is nothing or alot but I am assuming that for most people trading is not their full time occupation and this just adds extra to your income
Nb
I still hope that I can get back in Kaz at a decent price in a few weeks but just not in the same quantity as before so to evenly match risk and reward
