Strike are not part of these discussions and I would imagine would like to swoop in and 'Strike' any deal to be had here, buying up the competition and all that sunk add spend. They have already put £100m odd into their endeavours why not another £10-£15m ?

Just done a bit of digging, it looks like there were no meaningful shorts even under the 0.5% threshold much below the £3 level. 'Strikes' me as odd. Looks like the hedge funds were not at all confident of betting against this. If an interested party did wan't to buy this from admin I would expect some shorting to help in that end goal. Especially as Tosca for example own a lot of Strike.

Over 27million shares indicated as bought. There are virtually zero shorts even below the 0.5% reporting threshold so its not short covering. Who is taking a stake and why ?

This time I looked on short europe. Often if you downloand the FCA spreadsheet it is updated a bit quicker than short tracker. So over all only a tiny reduction. Imagine what would happen if/ when they all decide to close !

Well I guess we will see by tonight/ tomorrow night. I firmly beleive that algos and AT's can overwhelm the SETS order book, especially if there is enough firepower and low volume.

There was still 2.94% stock out on loan here at end April , reduced slightly from 2.99% at end March.
In theory the shorts should be the first to start the buying in order to close, but this has not happened yet as of two trading days ago.

Here was 3.05% at end of April slightly up from 3.03% at end of March

There has been a 500,000 share trade after hours every evening for the last few trading days. In my view its an order worked by the market makers, looking at the upwards direction of SP travel I would say its most likely buying ( short covering ?)

You are right they are only marked as buy or sell and not 100% reliable. I think the market makers and the SETS order book can be 'gamed a little bit' so it is possible to have a day with more buys than sells where the price goes down. Obviously as the market makers get short of stock and out of pocket they will re-price/ re-balance. There could be things going on in the back ground like a large sell instruction a market make has.
I think most of the old Institutional lot are almost out, so time for the new.

You are right in your assumptions re algo trading, if the volume is low ( which it is ) a cascade of algo sells hits peoples genuine stop losses and down we go. As you say lots of uncertainty now hence 38% down. I do think that when the shorts are done and the Instis who were selling have finished this will rise to the 300s pretty darn quick.
Hard to say what the 75k and 65k trades were but I bet they are off book so worked through by the market makers.
I notice Publicis group PUGBY is very close to yearly highs after being in the doldrums for some time.
