Just had a look at that Chopstix thing after the blatherings about HSBC last night. It seems quite clear that Chopstix the business have a £5m loan from Metro but HSBC will offer potential franchisees up to 70% of the start up costs. Sounds like HSBC are taking the risky part there.

Of course Marshall Wallace haven't always had a 1% + short position here.
My question to you was why if the retail and mortgage business cannot sustain the branches are Marshall Wallace buying stock back ? Why has the total short position reduced massively over the last 3 months ?

That does look like we are being demoted, however it says exit candidate and samanthas prediction so that list is by no means official.
Telegraph indicies show Metro still in and the Proactive article I mentioned. Guess we will find out tomorrow.

My understanding is it is market makers putting through orders from institutions. Further in my view I think hedgefunds tend to put orders through nice and late ( even after 4.30pm ) so they show up after hours to stop everyone seeing it and the shareprice getting away from them, up or down. Interesting the large UT was above the bid price too.

This sounds like we are staying in the 350. From proactive investors last week. Down towards the bottom of the FTSE 250 index, Metro Bank PLC's (LON) 80%-plus crash so far this year has given the challenger bank a market cap of around £471mln, making it the fifth smallest in the FTSE 350.

Thats nothing if you think thats impressive some of us can buy at the bottom and sell close to the top every day, even on down days which of course we know about before they happen and are probably short.

Doesn't it depend on the market cap of the other constutuents ? The good thing is they have all dropped too. Probably somewhere over £500m might keep us in ?
Baron day trading has a pretty good record ( FYI he doesn't day trade hes more of a swing trader)

Just checked and on euroclear it looks like the short level has reduced by 50% since then end of June. So I'm back in here at high 250s
Blackrock seem to be trading this and I think Odey will hold or try and do a block deal to close.
Should see 100% + upside here.
