There is at least £20 million held short, could be even more. They are all running algos it doesn't really matter where they borrowed the stock from. For the shorter the borrow costs 2-3% per anum plus the risk of the price rising.

Good question. As Narbonne is the most recent 3.95% buyer and based in Cayman Islands my guess is that could be the vehicle for a bid.

He could have banked the profit a lot lower where you and I sold, Did you buy them back I did.
I think he probably is short, there is some good CFD money to be made short IF you get it and time it right. VERY risky though hence all the hard work de ramping on the boards.

Thats exactly it the bond value decreases the coupon increases. The last information I saw the bonds did not decrease after the write down.
Anyway you could be right but my thoughts are BlackRock are momentum johnny come latelys who are shorting on Oil price and TLW weakness. Like they did on Kier.

I get that but they have just taken on more risk for the same coupon.
Premier Oil bonds are better higher coupon higher share price and massive amount of shorts already !

I'm not saying I'm right but in my opinion BlackRock should have bought the bonds and shorted as a hedge with the SP in the 200s. Same bond coupon and they are already protected.
Anyone know how to hedge the risk of stealing a sandwich from the staff canteen ?
