I’d advise caution. Just read an article saying Three are offering free access to mobile bb for some kids, I like. It’s a difficult thing for BT to juggle I think because of scale, because it might not make sense to distract away from fibre
It’s a shame BT don’t directly earn revenue per use or per usage like a phone call.
Indirectly upgrades increasing income is good news, as is openreach, I worry about openreach being sold off, I see this as a bit, like when O2 were sold, I thought the same then, but accept it could have been necessary at the time, it doesn’t feel like Bzt need to be in that kind of a rush.
Still interested to see pension deficit & I still think biggest risk is high spending during a down turn. Pension details should be available this year, I was hopeful, less now.
I want to see a focus on SP but not via a sell off. Market performance last couple of days shows similar concerns I think.
I personally am sceptical charts can account for these possibilities, but am still interested to read chartist predictions. I still need a good increase to cover shortfall even after a buying spree earlier this year (even though I promised I wouldn’t ). My hope is I can hold on until a around in fortunes, which I’m still confident of, it’s the scale in time I can’t guess right now. Best guess 3-10 years?
I still wonder whether current BB speeds are enough for most people? So wonder whether the rollout could be slowed down if necessary, but can see savings down the line and borrowing likely to remain cheap.
Waiting Ofcom final decision on regulation, I hope govt has some how managed to reduce their investment, but argued to let BT increase their returns ? But I think OFCOm are independent
Hey Mather - others on here are right I think. City and services negotiations could be key. Some articles Ive read say London is still very powerful, I don’t know if that’s true, but might mean EU negotiators will want a quick agreement to keep everything stable.
I assume BT SP is being adversely affected by worries around U.K. economy rather than primary trade concerns. Although I’m guessing data sharing and rules like that between 3rd countries & EU could impact BT? But I’m not sure how yet?
Missing investment from the government has surprised me to, I was hoping to see a large slice of that, which I think has been reduced but could change again if priority is a fibre rollout
The moronic source is you feaces.
You do realise the tax payers alliance don’t represent taxpayers or the institute of Economic Affairs ..... isn’t.
You’ve already made fool out of yourself over trade agreements this week, shockingly.
The actual EU site clearly says these tax terms are up to member states so long as it abides by the rules they have previously agreed
Of course (as you learnt last week ) every trade deal has rules & consequences. You also had it explained to you that the UK’s deal with japan has very little change to the one we already had, except the U.K. has agreed to far tighter rules on state aid than anything the EU would agree to, or expect from other member states.
I must apologise to everyone else, my contempt for this loon, is getting harder to hide.
Fleecy - I don’t get influenced by moronic sources.
The actual EU site makes it clear taxation is a matter for member states. They have an ongoing difference around Apple in particular but that’s part of a wider arrangement to stop big American internet companies not paying the right tax
You’re just so dishonest, with the biggest Dunning Kruger problem I’ve ever seen. It makes anything you think or report entirely untrustworthy, luckily the Dunning Kruger reassures your ridiculous self.
If you keep going, you’ll eventually be right about something, but it will be more stopped clock than blind luck
Rooster - yes I agree, big decision for U.K. this one. You might have hit the nail on its head with this one, this might be what the markets are waiting for.
I knew fishing produced less cash than Harrods, I didn’t realise it was the second lowest contributor to the British economy, behind very specialised mining.
It really does show the stupidity of it all.
NDN - it’s not leave or remain it’s now the consequences, the economic effect and then impact on U.K. economy. Being harder to do business with either externally or internally through the Irish Sea border.
In terms of your driving licence, millions of others can’t, your licence may be no good in some countries outside the EU & don’t forget you need a green card now.
But I couldn’t care less about your trips out, this is purely about economic impact & whether trading partners will just find alternatives or continue regardless of the nee complicated trading arrangements
More red tape, more customs checks, new border facilities, rules of origin & new tariffs where these rules are not met.
Regardless of what you say now, I’ve only argued there are new border facilities, kent being one of them. That Kent has a new KAP & that where applicable a new border will provide customs checks & deny entry to ports where these border conditions are not met
I’ve also talked about the Irish border, where it’s not harder to do business internally, requiring all kinds of checks, red tape and policing, making trade within the U.K. internal market harder
You & fleecy have chosen to argue that’s not true & incorrectly accused me of all kinds of dishonesty. It’s all true, it’s all correct, it will play a part in our investments. It’s all written down, you can go read your ridiculous claims.
Wow look at all those internal border facilities. Performing customs checks, denying access to ports & other border functions
Which incidentally you’ve just spent all day arguing they don’t exist.......
Honestly ridiculous, still it’s made my long wait at the airport easier.
For good measure, here’s the internal border, which makes trading internally within the U.K. internal market, harder, between mainland U.K. and NI.

NDN - here’s a list of the other inland borders.
You said they were always there, this document rxplains they are being created purely post Brexit £740m.
You’re wrong that they were already there
You’re wrong to say they are not borders
You’re wrong to think magic fairies enforce customs arrangements

You absolute loon.
