I have been very clear. I have NEVER thought that AFC produce H2 via a generator but you clearly do.

For potential investors who are new to AFC, AFC does not manufacture any product that produces hydrogen. Where such a product is required third party equipment is procured as is the case with Extreme E.

I have read pretty much everything relevant Degsy. I can't see a product made by AFC that produces H2. Please can you help by pointing me to it?

MIKODX, you confused me as your original post referred to fuel cells and then said they "also make hydrogen generators". That made if sound like a separate product so I hence wrote a one line response just pointing this out.

I think you have insulted me. The tone of your first response was condescending to say the least when you could have asked for simple clarification, and I don't suppose you called me a plum as a term of endearment.

Cheekboy, I agree but it is called a fuel cell. MIKODX referred to fuel cells in his post, but then said AFC also make hydrogen generators. That suggests an additional product line that doesn’t exist.

I haven't done anything other than share what I know. When I pass opinion I try to ensure that it is flagged as just that.....opinion.
However, on this occasion I agree with you. I am right in saying that AFC do not manufacture products that produce hydrogen. If you can show me otherwise I will conceded my error with pleasure.

No they are not Minder. The electrolyser is supplied by a third party and is being powered by solar cells to generate hydrogen which is then stored to power the AFC-manufactured fuel cells which in turn power batteries. The solar cells and batteries are also third party products.

To answer your first question you are right. I have not been here very long. Only 11 years. And I never do my own research.....although I do go to every investor day and AGM, I have known each of the CEOs personally and I have read pretty much everything to have come out of the company.

You use the term hydrogen generators in your posts. This to me implies a generator (ie producer) of hydrogen and AFC absolutely does not make anything like that.

The RNSs to which you refer use the term "provider of hydrogen power generation technologies" , A slightly clumsy phrase that means that AFC provides power generating equipment that runs from hydrogen ie fuel cells. AFC products are consumers not producers of hydrogen.

If this is in fact what you meant by the phase hydrogen generator then we are in agreement, although the term you use is inaccurate and misleading.

If this is not what you mean, and you still feel that AFC makes kit that produces hydrogen, then please coujld you show me what that kit is as I have missed something. It would need to be an electrolyser, or some sort of steam reformation technology as these are the most common H2 generation methods.

To be clear again, AFC Energy does not make products that produce hydrogen.

I would appreciate it in future MIKODX if you could address posts to me without the sarcasm....for example your line "when you read them and fully understand them". That's sarcastic at best. I will also generally reply to someone, but I am not beholden to you and there will never be a day when I will have to "report back" to you.

If the difference in opinion is the result of a poor choice of words (the fuel cells have NEVER been described as hydrogen generators) then we are indeed in agreement and this is settled. If not then I suggest you take your own advice.

My question was not really about the performance of both. AFC has little revenue and needs to economise like every other company at present. I'm not sure that there is enough output from AB and JG to justify them both, especially given their huge salaries for little apparent commercial traction. Could we lose one of them and save a few hundred thousand a year? May be, may be not, but I see absolutely no evidence to confirm we need both.
On balance maybe Gibson should go. Bond is an articulate orator but Gibson comes across as awkward and offhand at times. I think he may create antibodies.
BA/ Virgin/ Pret/ Costa and thousands of other companies are losing staff that are not mission critical. Why not AFC?
Of course this may be inappropriate and AFC may need both. PERHAPS IF THEY JOLLY WELL COMMUNICATED WITH US INSTEAD OF TREATING US WITH DISDAIN WE MIGHT KNOW. it's not as if we own the company or anything.

I agree Garonne. Recent events have strengthened my long-held view that EV is a white elephant for AFC and it is simply not making headway.
I am heartened by the fact that the RNS this week cited AFC as the leading technology for that application, something the in-house broker has said previously. AFC's commercial future is in gen set replacement and the solid cell. The reality is that AB has frittered millions away on EV, a target that was ill researched and poorly understood by them.
Question. Does AFC need Adam Bond and Jim Gibson? I would suggest not.

I was really hoping that AFC would post a second big RNS this week to give a bit of momentum. Unlikely to happen tomorrow so guess we will have to wait.

Yes, it might only be for one system, but AFC has had to go through a competitive process to come out on top, and in doing so has had its technology and proposition validated by a prestigious player with government backing. That will make potential large-scale investors take note, and will provide significant reassurance for AFC's early adopters.

I am particularly encourages that the use of low grade H2 (and of course ammonia) was a significant part of this. This bodes very well and the contract is highly significant in my view.

As tweets go it's a fail.

Interesting article...and an excellent overview of the sector for those new to it.

The initial graph was sobering. Whilst every other fuel cell company has powered on in terms of its SP this year, AFA has been absolutely flat. I hope this means that there is unrealised potential SP growth just awaiting news.

The article would make me think twice about investing in Ceres at present.....some time before profit there, but ITM has clear potential. AFC seemed to be considered as almost a start up; again it is very clear however how transformational investment by a major could be in terms of lifting MCap. It's a shame the £31m fund raIse didn't achieve this.

Good to see that Adam is on form re seemingly highly optimistic sound bites that actually say nothing. Is the sweet spot "we've actually hit" in reference to AFC, the fuel cells, or to the H2 market in general. Being Adam, we will never know.

And at risk of repeating myself for those like Maytal who think I am negative. And who don't bother to check before they post misleading info:

I have a very large holding in AFC

I have never sold a share

I am very positive about the solid cell and its applications

I am positive re genset replacement.

I do not think the liquid cell will have a long term future if the sold cell does what it should

I do not think EV will provide commercial traction

I think the board, in some respects, has shown its inexperience. I have many years board experience in organisations with 7-8 figure turnovers so am not without some knowledge.

I do not withold positive comment when I feel it appropriate, but similarly will make negative comment.

I have no concern at what the likes of Maytal feel about me. If people want to read what I say I am very grateful (I seem to get a lots of recs). If they don't they can ignore or filter. But I like evidence and not ignorance.....many on this board appear to have it the other way round.

2021-22 will be AFCs time. Not this year.
