Maybe that explains why Avacta seemed quiet on the Affimers/novel sensor in their results ? Or can the two be blended?

Yup the possibilities for this tech are endless and the difference made to the real world and revenue streams to be gained are both mind boggling.
Knowing that this was all in you and your team's mind pre-covid is something that caused me to invest large here and I do have great faith in the longevity (if you get a chance before being bought out!).
The big question is always what to push and where, and that's what we are relying on your judgement to pick or get pulled to. My mind keeps going back to the roll out of the biggest tech move of our time, mobile comms. It came in small concentrated pockets rather than instant blanket coverage.

IMHO a far better area to concentrate initial resources on and dominate.

The chicken/egg scenario of the BT and the scanners may work well for command/control situations (ie cruise ships, singapore etc) but I'd hesitate see to it romp home ahead of the opposition in the western hemisphere.

Paulcon, yeah from the unveiling I've only voted with my feet I'm afraid, there were too many things that were pointing at development attention being distracted from their 'heritage' subject of wastewater into the BT. Fine if you've got the wastewater nailed, but they haven't yet.

Pilgrim, happy to listen if you can offer some nuance, but I sadly think that you're unnecessarily defensive about this stock.
Yup it's got major possibilities, just like the tech at Modern Water before, but they've got to concentrate on selling that tech into their 'heritage' area of operation, the wastewater field.
And before you say that I'm criticising exactly that by being disappointed with the RNS re Water rising, read back through their tweets and you'll see that Water Rising and SKIN have already discussed publicly about working together. A £400k contract over 3 years for a company growing as fast as SKIN is not 'material' and including reference to a sensor which has only been tested on the 'spike' and needs a at least couple of months AI refinement on the full virus smacks of showing signs of desperation which concerns me more than no RNS at all.
Anyway, look at the market reaction. Nothing of substance, like the contents of the RNS.
Give me a an adapted microtox machine fitted onto a cruise ship please.

Paulcon, thanks for the vote but the pointless up/down polemics that generally exist in these BBs (advfn is even worse with really bitter posters) is why I don't tend to post as much when threads get more 'excited'.

I much prefer nuanced conversation about shares because even CEOs don't get things right all the time and teams can get a tad carried away in their enclosed bubbles and we should be able to point that out without being told to f off or accused of being short.

This company has a real chance to make a global difference but I am genuinely afraid that they are going against their own advice earlier in the year and chasing a rainbow rather than concentrating on their core competence and achieving a genuinely dominant company and a financial rainbow to boot!

Definitely not a 'Boom', more a little meat on the bones that we already knew. This relationship has been referred to on Twitter several times before and likely amounts to one (?) ctm with support and consumables. A tad disappointing for an RNS which is supposed to be 'material' .

15 years ago you could have bought the one now selling at over £300k (with fees nearly £450k) for only £150!!!

Paul, it's what we all knew was being developed but it has never been confirmed as working before in a 'material' RNS.

Over the next week we can expect to start hearing more details of phase 1/2 development times and get a lot more attention accordingly.

robortsmith, I've always regarded the statement re the existing microtox machines as a roll-out base as being a bit unnecessary and fluffy. After all, lots of the existing stock of machines are in settings that will have no need to know if the virus is present (i.e. industrial non consumer settings).
After all there is going to be more than enough customers for a real-time detection device in its own right.

Actually Paul, I disagree. This is the very first confirmation that what we are all here for (the Novel Sensor) actually works. That's massive news.
Over the next week we can expect to hear about refinement/development timescales leading to launch estimates.
I'd also expect to hear something about Government/Industry collaborations/testing.

With a working real-time detection device being refined, funding on their terms is not going to be an issue. They're going to have Government/backers offering them more than they need.

These 'field trials' seem to be cropping up in a few places now. The WaterRising Institute tweet on 3rd September seemed to indicate they were part of something going on over there too.

Indeed Paul, this is the timing that was always promised and now we shall start to see what's on the table. The timing to the wider world couldn't be better either if they are ready to start demonstrating/live testing.
