it could reduce expenditure, to reduce dilution, but it still have the asset at its disposal, and lithium is in demand and will be in high demand 2 to 3 years from now, to give you an example: Arcm faced the loss of its gold asset worth 1 million once, due to new rule preventing the use of cyanide, it places one chap there digging and may be extracting gold to cover his own cost, he is still there and arcm still own the asset. some shares may change hands but the value is there.
