Nice little update today. CDL have picked up five coarse angular nuggets at Darlot West – and the fact they’re angular is the key. That usually means they haven’t travelled far, so we’re potentially very close to source mineralisation.

The work programme is building nicely:

• 653 soil + rock-chip assays due through October (plenty of newsflow).

• High-res airborne mag kicking off mid/late October to pin down the structures.

• First drill programme flagged for Oct/Nov.

Don’t forget, this is only 10km from the long-life Darlot Mine which produced nearly 3Moz over 30 years, and ore in this belt often sits in structurally-controlled shoots at depth. CDL already reported rock chips up to 28.6 g/t Au earlier this year – nuggets just reinforce the system is gold-fertile.

In anticipation of another cracking set of results I've had to go digging to see how likely Cloudbreak are sitting on a motherload based on neighbouring proven resources being actively mined.

What we know

1. Darlot deposit style & discovery - Darlot–Centenary sits in the Yandal greenstone belt (Eastern Goldfields, WA), with gold hosted in quartz-vein systems along major shear/thrust structures.

2. The Centenary orebody (1.2 km E of Darlot mine) was discovered in 1996 by a hole that hit 33 m @ 8.0 g/t from ~332 m—i.e., blind mineralisation at depth identified by structural targeting and drilling.

3. The broader Darlot/Leonora area has gold since the 1890s; many early finds were from surface workings, but modern ounces came from structurally controlled, deeper lodes.

Nice to see WSBN holding onto most of last week’s weeks gains. I’m in here and CDL, and it’s no surprise CDL is flying this morning – gold breaking through $3,800 has lit a fire under the juniors. Both companies are sitting in the right postcode at the right time, and when momentum catches in this sector it usually spreads fast. Exciting weeks ahead for holders of both.

Plenty of transformational news is on the horizon for CDL. A few points worth highlighting for anyone wondering “what’s next”:

• Drill results due – assays from the current programme are imminent. With nearby operators hitting strong grades, any confirmation of similar mineralisation here would be game-changing and force the market to re-rate CDL fast.
