Can anyone give a rundown of what’s happening here? - I looked at IC alpha report who had a target of 55p and to buy at 38p - that was July 2020. Since then looks like some colourful accounting and price has dived into 20s - is recovery possible or is this a difficult one to call?
What has happened with this company? I was watching a few years ago and all seemed good and promising for the future now... Paul Welch was CEO? Can anyone give a brief summary of what has happened and prospects of the company?
From my recollection they had gas pipelines in Morocco and oil fields in Egypt; I know there were some difficulties with payments from Egyptian authorities etc
It has been a while since being *speculatively* bought into UKOG. I think my first entry was around 2012 at 0.64 then went to 2.5 several months later, so made 400% profit on sale.
Again, I purchased more between 2016/2017 and unfortunately sold out for a small loss just before that peak in 2017 whereby it hit 10.00+. Back then the price went down to 0.80p and hit 10.00p with momentum over around 2 weeks. Missed out on around 60k profit from this!
I've bought a modest amount and am going to continue to add a couple of hundred each month whilst it is at it's current rate. At 0.15p this is possibly the lowest price the shares have been for years; we all know what AIM market is like, some news and easily drive an increase. Mind you, this is completely speculative and I am only going off the assets held and recent court ruling in UKOG favour. In terms of cash flow, this company is terrible, at present. However, the UK need oil from UK resources.
In terms of profits, the only way I can see anyone making money here is from a sharp momentum play in the SP movement. That being said, at this price it is worth taking a risk and picking some shares up and holding them in a LISA or ISA - purely as a speculative buy. By no means would I classify this as a 'investment'. I feel for those who have bought in at higher prices, but thats why AIM has a terrible reputation.
It remains a speculative stock at best, if you’re willing to risk a small amount of funds it may do well. Has cash, has Genedrive linked with US Army, is awaiting confirmation of CE mark in the next three weeks. I feel it will still retrace as the current price is very high, considering the most recent evens and volatility. Equally, infrastructure is secured for around 6,000,000 tests. There are a lot worse companies to speculate on...
Doesn’t get my buy until news is in from the CE mark, but others are equal to make their own speculative assumptions.

Additionally, if the shares come onto market on 28th May price will drop by further 20% on that day they come onto market due to more shares in existences - I know people are saying it’s already calculated into the price etc but the reality is that it isn’t because they aren’t yet on the market. This is AIM. Momentum and speculation drives most of the shares here. For those that are adamant on holding their position it is a great time to top up! But this share has already done 1,700% since the end of March and 700% in April. MCAP still cheap but a massive retrace towards placing price is on the cards unless more news is inbound.
Sold out yesterday after buying in at 193, broke even as I didn’t feel momentum wasn’t carrying this. Placing shares come to market by 28th May, have a feeling the price will drop closer to that 80p range until then. Still feel this has great potential but want a better price to entry, no point sitting at -30% if you can gain that margin of safety in a week or two. CE marks will really rally this so until then I can’t really see any other movement. Will most likely finish around 100/120p mark.
Just my opinion, you were all laughing at 180p entry a day ago.
GLA and stay safe.
Hit the 180p range. Bought in at 192p.
How are people seriously asking why it dropped... it’s AIM, if you don’t understand the market don’t invest.
AIM is used as my speculative fund. Never risk more than 5% capital in this fund.
No need to be sarcastic. We are all on this board to make money. You state a entry price and every turns on you, yet when you're posting facts and figures on returns etc days before everyones liking your comments, the irony.
It's a volatile stock, we saw that yesterday. I have taken 134% profit from MTFB so my price to come in is 1.80. It will trigger, eventually, even it it takes a few days - if I am wrong then so be it, not going to chase it on a bull run.
