So you have worked long and hard and no doubt will have a deserved, and comfortable retirement.

I’ve stated many times, WE were warned in the 80’s and 90’s to top up our pension pots.

You have no idea what you are talking about, and I started work at 13.

I’m not bitter or jealous at all.

All working individuals, home movers, young families, business owners, car drivers etc are gonna get hammered for more than £300 per year.

Pensioners have had a lifetime to prepare for retirement and if any are that hard up for £300 a year clearly have not been contributing enough to the tax system and their pensions, why should the tax payer pick up the tab? We are about to get hammered as it is.

Very few do, not all, just the ones that have mismanaged their personal finances and thankfully the tax payer is no longer picking up the tab.
