Exactly...that's a positive RNS. Ghana have a vested interest in the outcome of the dispute so it should not be decided by them and being Africa could take forever. This way it will be decided by a neutral party under international law with a legally binding result and in a reasonable time frame.

Despite the white noise on here, the facts are the facts and can clearly be seen in the lack of downward movement in the share price since the RNS was released.

They're really cluching at straws at the moment. For about 3 weeks now they've been saying we're going to 20p. Yet here we're are still at 35p which appears to be bottom.

This tax amount has been known and was in the HY update released in January (see below). The RNS is just stating they are taking it to international arbitration. Doubt they'd go to that trouble if they didn't think they could win. So this is old news really and should already be priced in.

"Cash taxes are expected to be in excess of $300 million in 2023 (at $80/bbl) as historical capital allowances in Ghana will have been fully utilised in the first quarter of 2023. Tullow has received both revised and new tax assessments from the Ghana Revenue Authority throughout 2022, with these assessments not resulting in an increase to the overall exposure previously disclosed. Tullow believes these assessments are without merit and continues its active engagement with the Government of Ghana with the aim to resolve these disputes on a mutually acceptable basis."

I wonder if Tullow can use all the green we're generating on here towards their carbon offsetting....?

Look at the smile on Rahul's face in the photo of him with all the Kenyan energy sector ministers at the IOC stand at India Energy Week. I challenge you try find another similar type of photo of him from the past 2 years where he is smiling like that.

Nothing is certain till it's certain and the Kenya deal may never materialise, however you just cannot ignore those tweets. They suggest a strong leaning towards negotiations going well and that a deal is imminent.

Am I imagining things or does the person on the right look like Chairman of Total Energies. There's a definite similarity, however not sure and he hasn't posted anything of him being at India Energy Week on Twitter.....any thoughts?
