..this has been a disaster for me so far. It's another reminder of how bad I am at assessing commercial acumen and the behind-the-scenes politics in prospective investee companies. I just saw the wonderful technology, and some mentions throughout the media praising it. Seemed like a no-brainer. But I'm already 26% underwater. I bought in less than a month ago. I would have hoped at least to be breaking even, or moving in a +/- range of say, 5%.

I could do with a pep talk by someone on here who actually believes in this company and, crucially, knows what they're talking about. Otherwise I'm at risk of cutting and running.

How-long's-a-piece-of-string question I suppose, but do we have any idea at all as to when we might know about the Wood Group possibility?

The 'current price' being the mid price between bid and offer. But no one can be sure as sometimes, depending on volume, it's possible to buy below the mid and sell above it. But it's a general guide.

It's usual for a share to fall back by about 30% of a significant rise. EMH has fallen back by pretty much exactly that since it started to rise in early november. This is consolidation and is absolutely fine. Stay cool and if you can afford to, pick up some bargains, imo.

...deeply fishy about all this. L2 market depth of 61 on the bid and most have a tiny NMS. Vast majority of trades are tiny and in rapid succession, so driven by bots. Whole thing smells worse than Billingsgate.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've just been whacked with 70 quid stamp duty on a share purchase. This hasn't happened before. Has something changed? Or have I just been stupid?

The recent RNS quote from Al Sisto below seems to me to be saying there'll be no more placings too, at least in the short to medium term. This possibility has been worrying people, but my take on this is that there's no need for concern any more.

"Tern now has a diversified portfolio of IoT focussed businesses, at various stages of maturity, that are benefiting from the synergies of being part of the Tern ecosystem and I believe now provide our shareholders with an appropriate balance of risk and reward."

He goes on to suggest that further funding into investees will come from syndication:

" The fundamental value and attractiveness of our portfolio has increased significantly through the performance and relevance achieved during 2020 and we believe will continue to do so during 2021. We also believe this underlying value will be recognised during this year as our portfolio companies secure third-party expansion capital through syndicated funding rounds."

According to the chart, we should be finding support at this level and begin climbing back up to about 80. Of course now that I've said this, it won't happen.

Yes I've read that. And have posted it response to cynics :-) But the very fact that it's remarkable speaks volumes about how uptake hasn't happened elsewhere. I hope it does. I need to recover my RedT losses for a start. But even if it does, it strikes me that a bunch of (obviously highly qualified) banker types might struggle to compete with Bushveld.

Never mind, I might take a punt tomorrow. At this mcap and with market sentiment finally favouring green energy (at last... I was there 5 years ago, being an AGW aficionado) it can't be a bad bet. Short term at least. If they succeed, maybe they can offer Invinity some pointers..

Well there are far fewer large scale redox installations than lithium. I've been invested in RedT for years, now Invinity of course, and am way underwater. I don't know why redox hasn't gained the traction it seems to deserve - a techie explained once - but it hasn't despite the best efforts of many. Progress is being made but the pace is glacial. And anyway, Pineapple are setting themselves up as an enabler and incubator of redox companies, which is exactly what Bushveld are trying to do, or have done (hence involvement in both Invinity and Cellcube), so they'll be in competition with a pretty big player. Won't they?

I'm not looking for faults, merely deciding whether or not to take a punt myself. It seems to me that the only thing that'll drive this up is sentiment amongst people who don't know the sector, after which it'll come crashing back down again. OK for a short term gain I suppose.

If they're focusing on Redox, Invinity is struggling and has done for years. It's global now, with the help f Bushveld, yet is still failing to gain traction. Cost of vanadium has been one factor holding it back, but also some technical constraints - it's suitable for certain applications but not others. Isn't pineapple being a little optimistic if RedT/Avalon (Invinity) and Bushveld haven't been able to crack the redox market open, why will Pineapple?
