Camkite, my belief is that no more placings are due. I may of course be wrong in this. But remember that Tern are a startup too, and as such, raising cash at very short notice, to prevent Alsop Louis getting first and reducing our shareholdings in investees, was probably difficult. Hence the frantic bucketshop raises. All nasty from out POV but I'm hoping all that's behind us now.
Tern's share price has no effect on the performance of the investees. Only the other way around. It's true that a rising share price would attract attention, fuelling in tern further share price rises. I'd like this We all would. Hence my criticism of Tern's PR efforts and mostly of AS' insistence on NAV as a valuation base.. that's just daft.
Nevertheless, when an asset sells, the outcome will be the same regardless of the share price, assuming no further dilution.
I was heavily underwater here. I sold all lossmaking tranches of shares and invested them elsewhere, although I've yet to recover that loss. The remainder is now in profit. I agree that this should not have been necessary, but it was. Tern had no cash and needed lots. Hopefully that's behind us now.
