It's a good question. There seems to be a lot of people with that name. Why all the Stephen Jones' insist on using their middle name too I don't know. Just a wealthy punter I suspect.

The Low6 IPO in Q2 has to be something to anticipate with optimism..

I agree that it raises eyebrows. But Stephen Jones is still here, long and strong and heavily invested. We're coming up to the end of the financial year and this always throws up anomalous behaviour when it comes to shares.

As for no one knowing what we're going to be invested in... well that's a feature of investing in SPACS... all of them. This isn't unique to Conduity. It's always going to be a punt.

Not long now and we'll know what's happening here.

I finally found the tweet and messaged the bloke. Sounds like bilge to me. Ignore it. If there's anything to it I'll come back on here.

I'm imagining some sort of setup where the trust acts as a guarantor of funds, but unlike normal share purchases, the money doesn't actually carry over, so if the share price plummets due to collapse of a deal, the cash is simply withdrawn from the trust. But this is me wild guessing... I actually have no idea. As I say, I've never heard of such a thing before. Just thought it worth checking out though.

Someone on twitter was saying that these big holders aren't taking any risk because they're buying through a trust and if it all goes belly up, they get their cash back. Is there anything to this? First I've eve heard of such a thing.

Perhaps what we ned are traders to enter at this level, P&D it to 15 to fry all the bar stewards who are trying to drive it to 6, and then do their dump thing back to this level.

The board undoubtedly carry blame. As has been discussed on here today. But the traders do too. I've been here for years and if there's one thing Tern has it's a name as a trader's share. But I believe strongly that the traders are people calling themselves long term holders. They appear when they've pulled the price down.. well known names on ADVFN.. slithering about talking it up. Then they go quiet. The price is always stopped at the same point, and the quantities are always the same and the method's the same. Every time. If they didn't P&D in this way, the price would continue the gentle climb it's enjoyed over the last couple of weeks. Instead traders have stopped it in its tracks. Again. So yes I blame the traders. For the price not being in the teens or twenties. And I blame the board for it not being higher than that.

Here we go. Traders have it by the nuts and are dragging it back down again. They're quite organised. If a decent buy pops up of say 200k, similar trader sells appear soon after. So the price rise stalls... then buying slows, then they lay into it with sells. Not too quickly as they don't want it to drop so fast they don't have time to sell.

Of course you're right in that Tern should counter this by publicising investee success. The TAG wold have forced that. But now this will continue, as it has for years, until an asset sale comes. Personally I'm running out of patience. I'll give it to the end of April. If no sale, I'm out.

Probably. You might even spin it by saying that AS knows his marketing limitations and judged that DA had been caried to a stage where a more marketing oriented person should be in charge, so he stepped aside seeing his job as being done. Possible...

Note the large sells happening now? Always the same sizes, every time. 100k, 200k and 250k. It's the lths in the private group. They've talked it up to the same top and they'll drag it down again. Rinse and repeat. These are the people mostly responsible for the static price range. Although of course AS could overwhelm them if he promoted the company properly. I accept that. But even without that, the price would rise gradually if these parasites stopped playing it. Then we'd all gain.

I've not denied the negatives anywhere. I've stated them in fact. I've even said I'm tempted to move on. But I see both sides. You seem to focus on one only. AS is crap at PR and boosting the share price. He's good at selecting and nurturing investees. That's it. On balance, we stay because on balance, despite the negatives (AS/PR), we know that we'll gain in the end (asset value). So focus on that.

The TAG could have forced a change of approach on PR, but most people sneered at it.

Tsk ok, if you refuse point blank to see the optimistic side of the coin at all, then sell up and vanish. I'm tired of these conversations. You either get that this company grew from pretty much nothing, and has valuable assets that will sell for big profits, or you complain about not having profits tied up in your shares right now, presumably so you can realise them.

It's not been a pleasant ride, this share. I'm fully peed off with it after 6 years. But there is a reward on the horizon. It may be that you'd do better selling and investing elsewhere... if you think this is such a crock of cr4p, why don't you? I'm tempted. I'd put the lot into EMH, my other large holding. The reason I don't is that every time I come to press the button, I remember just how much DA and Wyld and FVR are worth, and that an offer could come at any point. To sell, you have to forget this idea, move on and never look back. Shouldn't be a problem for you given what you think of the BoD as you seem to be assuming that holding is going to cost you money, not make it.

The only profit here leis in the value of the sale price when assets are sold. There is nothing else. It's an investment company. You don't make money from shares you invest in until they are sold. Same with Tern.
