Every mining cycle has winners and losers — that’s the nature of resources. But the fact remains: Byrne built something big enough to command a multi-billion dollar buyout. Most juniors never get close. That’s the calibre I’m backing with MET1.

Funny how a ‘broken’ company still sold for $3.25bn — not many juniors leave that kind of wreckage behind.

Doesn’t matter if it was coal, Canada or the 2000s — the bottom line is Byrne took a junior from tens of millions to a multi-billion dollar exit. Very few management teams in the small cap space can point to that kind of track record. That’s the calibre MET1 have tied themselves to, and that’s why I’m backing it!

Appreciate the history lesson — but the fact remains: Western Coal went from a C$50m junior to a C$3.25bn buyout under Byrne’s leadership. No mining story is a straight line, early sellers always miss the top — but the outcome for those who held was transformational.

That’s the calibre of deal-making experience Metals One are aligning with. Exactly why I’m comfortable holding my position.

Not many juniors go from $50m to $3.25bn — Byrne’s did. That’s the legacy I’m betting on.

Fair enough — everyone backs the companies they believe in. Cobra’s done well, credit where it’s due. For me, MET1 is asymmetric risk/reward: pennies in, potential pounds out. Red days are part of the junior mining cycle — green days are what pay.

Good luck with GSCU, I’ll keep holding my MET1 ticket. We’ll see whose call looks smarter down the line.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. You see connections and chaos, I see undervalued assets and optionality across gold, uranium, copper, tin, energy and agri-tech — all tied to a board with a track record of turning small caps into billion-dollar exits.

No one’s pretending this is risk-free — it’s early-stage resources, it always carries risk. The difference is whether you view a $20m plant optioned for $1.4m and a pipeline of projects as a “show” or as asymmetric upside.

Markets will decide in time. I’m comfortable with my position, and that’s all that matters.

I think the difference here is I’m investing, you’re venting. Time will tell who called it right.

I hear you — and I know this game well enough to understand why you’re sceptical. But "bizarre" would be ignoring the fact that MET1 have just secured exposure to a $20m gold processing + power plant for $1.4m and aligned themselves with a board that’s already built a C$3bn exit.

Early-stage resources is always about asymmetry: small in, potential big out. Consolidations, placements, warrants — they’re just the plumbing. The real story is the asset base and the people steering it!

We’ll see soon enough whether this is “strip mining capital” or whether it turns into one of those moves that only looks obvious in hindsight. I’m happy with my position!!! You do you...and I believe you are doing nothing with MET1 which is entirely you prerogative?

I get it — exploration and micro-caps always carry risk, and anyone putting money in should go in with eyes open. But let’s separate the noise from the facts here:

Consolidation – standard clean-up on the TSX-V, happens all the time. Doesn’t change fundamentals, just makes the share structure investable.

Placement – tiny raise relative to the $20m plant and the option on the table. It’s working capital and due diligence money, not “artificial pump fuel.”

Warrants – standard in Canadian placements, nothing unusual. What matters is Lions Bay now has MET1 and John Byrne aligned to drive the gold plant to cashflow.

Market reaction – AIM micro-caps are rarely efficient on RNS day. News like this often takes time to be digested — but when the penny drops, it re-rates hard.

Nobody’s saying it’s risk-free, but the asymmetry here is glaring. A £20m plant with 12MW power infra for a US$1.4m option, backed by a board with a billion-dollar track record. For me, that doesn’t stink — that smells like an opportunity.

Fair play, you’ve had success in early stage explorers — but that doesn’t make every new play “jam tomorrow.” The difference here is simple:

Plant already built — $20m sunk into a gold roasting + 12MW power facility, Metals One and Lions Bay are picking it up for $1.4m.

Timeline — CPR underway, aiming for Q4 2026 production, not “someday” drilling.

Team — John Byrne has already built and sold a mining company for $3bn, that’s a track record most juniors would kill for.

Portfolio balance — MET1 still has uranium and nickel exploration upside, but now adds a near-term cashflow route through Lions Bay.

This isn’t about “own nothing, be happy.” It’s about securing critical metals and gold supply at ground-floor valuations. Some will scoff, others will position early. Time will tell who called it right.

Good morning Dusty, I see you are in a great mood again :-). In reply to your post (and still don't understand why you are on this board as you have stated you are never going to buy in; but each to their own I suppose!):

Consolidations and placings are pretty standard for micro-cap TSX-V companies — it’s housekeeping, not a red flag. A 5:1 roll-up simply cleans up the share structure, makes the stock more investable for institutions, and positions Lions Bay for the larger financing needed to refurbish and restart that $20m gold roasting plant.

The private placement? That’s small change relative to what’s coming — it’s for due diligence and working capital while the CPR is being finalised. The real story here is Metals One stepping in for a strategic 19.1% stake and aligning with John Byrne (same guy who built and sold Western Canadian Coal for C$3bn).

You don’t get a £20m plant with 12MW power infrastructure for a US$1.4m option unless you’ve got a plan. The roll-up and placement are the set-up moves. The upside for MET1 holders is being plugged into near-term gold cashflow, not waiting for the impending drill assays.

So absolutely yes, I see the positives — and they ring very loud bells indeed.

Massive news out this morning. Metals One have gone way beyond just “junior explorer” with this move – they’ve taken a 19.1% strategic stake in Lions Bay Capital and are positioning for exposure to near-term gold cashflow.

Gold Processing Plant Opportunity – Lions Bay is bringing a US$20m South African gold roasting & power plant back online by Q4 2026 for just US$1.4m. That plant can roast 5,000t of concentrate/month and generate 12MW power. This is exactly the kit needed to unlock refractory ore in Barberton – one of Africa’s richest gold belts.

Cashflow by 2026 – not the usual “jam tomorrow” junior narrative. This is near-term income potential while MET1 still advances uranium + critical metals exploration. It balances the portfolio beautifully.

Option to Acquire Mines – once the plant’s running, Lions Bay can consolidate small licensed mines that NEED this processing route. That’s leverage to millions of ounces that currently can’t be easily monetised.

Portfolio Upside – through Lions Bay MET1 now has exposure to copper-gold in Peru/Canada (Fidelity Minerals), high-grade tin/copper-gold in Australia (Epic), a producing SA gold mine (Bosveld), and even green fertiliser tech (Greensands). That’s diversified optionality on a tiny C$4m market cap vehicle.

Leadership – John Byrne (ex-Western Canadian Coal, sold for C$3bn) is steering Lions Bay. He knows how to take a micro-cap and build it into a multi-billion exit.

Timing – Gold sitting strong, uranium market still roaring, and MET1 now bridging the two with near-term revenue optionality.

This is not just another placement or JV. This is a transformational, strategic investment that gives MET1 shareholders exposure to a whole new gold cashflow story at ground-floor prices.

MET1 has already shown it can run from fractions of a penny to 50p+. With this kind of asymmetric news, low mcap, and retail still asleep, the rerate potential is explosive.

In summary, MET1 have just bought themselves a ticket into near-term gold production + global project pipeline for peanuts!!!! Uranium, gold, copper, tin, energy… all bases covered. I always do technical analysis....but am also aware that you can portray it to whatever suits you agenda! i.e. you just change the timeline and you can turn a Sell Signal to a Buy and vica-versa. My current view is that this will consolidate around this level and then head upwards. However, as we all know a decent peace of news could accelerate that; or negative could send it spiralling. So charts are only half the story; you need to do your research and if you are bought in to the story then invest.

In time I see this well above 10p...when they pull off a deal. Definitely a long term investment, the upside could be explosive. MET1 is sitting on huge nickel, copper and cobalt resources in Finland and Norway, right on Europe’s doorstep for the EV and green tech boom. RSI hovering in the 30s to 40s, close to oversold, primed for a bounce.

When a net short position in a company whose shares are admitted to trading on a UK regulated market reaches 0.1% of the issued share capital, and at each 0.1% change thereafter (e.g. 0.2%, 0.3%, etc.).

Public disclosure (on the FCA’s website):

When a net short position reaches 0.5% of the issued share capital, and again at every 0.1% change above that (0.6%, 0.7%, etc.).

So no-one really knows if there are no open short positions. There could be several within the non-disclosure thresholds.
