We have a charming posh Buffoon and a leading super power has a chap in his dotage who struggles with finding the right footpath back into his own house. You couldn’t make it up.

Thankfully they all have a political shelf lives and the passage of time will eventually see them waved off.

But as they thrash around now out of their depth, hopefully scientists and good science like SNG can offset some of the incompetence.

It’s very easy to set aside or even forget the absolutely MASSIVE potential of SNG as a ‘go to’ treatment for a whole host of viral lung infections when everything at the moment is so heavily weighted on Covid.

RSV, co infections etc etc. thank you for reminding us exactly what RM and Prof Holgate have already said. This could turn out to be a medical Swiss Army Knife for lung infections ?

But also a very timely reminder for all of us just how good this investment may very soon turn out to be.

My only wish is we could have a reality check and not see ourselves mixing it with global superpowers. It’s just ridiculous. We are just a wee island which just needs to sort its own problems out rather than getting belligerent and looking for trouble around the globe.

Start by being more self reliant and self sufficient rather than relying on opposing
regimes and likely enemies to provide power and all the manufactured stuff to sustain us. It’s just mental.

Medical advances like SNG really need to nurtured and cherished in the UK not sold off for control and riches to be enjoyed by others. We will hopefully do quite well out it as shareholders but the big dollars will again flow elsewhere. Time and again we do all the amazingly smart good stuff and it gets sold out to Uncle Sam or elsewhere and in the future we get to pay through the nose to use it.

Fruitsnveg sadly there seems a multitude of bad stuff stacking up and the potential for things to get out of hand very quickly in several areas.

Bird flu troubles me less than sending British troops to a tinderbox Polish / Belarus / (Russian) Border. I am fortunate that I can pretty much effectively isolate against bird flu contact but rabid nuclear equipped ‘Bears’ are a lot more worrisome.

In a medical context subject to RM and Prof Holgate not selling us a total pup the worsening global virus/ disease picture is probably inversely proportionate to SNG being an even greater nailed on runaway success. I just hope Vladimir leaves us alone to enjoy it.

When you take a second to add up the vast array of diligence carried out by all and sundry, the accumulated evidence of independent research, and enormous sums and reputations increasingly staked I think that threshold was passed quite some time ago.
