Totally agree. But I think you can tell that my comment was very tongue-in-cheek.
But this is an industry where an SP is not always based on market capitalisation - or at least, there are brief periods when rumour and sentiment have their sway and MC takes a temporary back seat.
For those brave enough, I suspect there will be opportunities for a bit of day trading over the next few weeks.
TL's backs are against the wall. More than 90% of their revenue comes from gas and oil and the Bayu Undan field is fast depleting. Building the Beaco LNG plant is an admirable aspiration, but they don't have the money for it and they are running out of time.
Assuming the postponed visit is still to go ahead shortly, it will be interesting to see what comes of the talks between the prime minister, Taur Matan Ruak, and the Australian government.
If TL would just swallow a bit of pride, a pipeline to Darwin would be the most sensible and expedient option. With 40% of its population below the poverty line, the TL government might do well to invest time and money in other means of revenue diversification within its economy instead of the hither-to non-starter at Beaco.
100-200 bagger? I'd be more than happy with a 10 bagger ;)
