My opinion is that India will be big for ceres power. 3 reasons for this view. 1) Partnership with thermax 2) India is big and growing in terms of energy imports (Russian oil and gas in particular) with big upside politically and economically if H2 takes off 3) and perhaps the most important is that at least initially H2 is going to heavy industry and petrochemicals. The utilisation of waste heat will up efficiencies so that SOEC stands head and shoulders above other H2 tech. I could also add a fourth that India will be at the sharp end of global warming so growing green credentials is of self interest. Not so sure about USA who seem hell bent on melting the arctic ice cap which would open up trade routes via, (you’ve guessed it) Greenland. There is may be method behind the Trump madness. I’m still anxious for other H2 stocks that are reliant on USA policy.

The UK Government’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) announced the successful projects for the Low Carbon Hydrogen Supply 2 Competition - Stream 2 on 19 May 2022.  Among these projects was ITM Power’s “Gigatest,” which received approximately £7.7 million in funding to support the physical demonstration of innovative hydrogen supply solutions.  The competition aimed to identify and develop innovative hydrogen supply or enabling technologies to advance their development significantly.

I don’t think the gigatest funding is new. Next funding on the horizon is HAR2.

A not so good piece of news for Doosan and Ceres in South Korea. Doesn’t seem to have had any SP impact. Maybe this was widely known or expected.

Whitelee likely to come ITM way. Been involved in project thus far. Confirmed as one of three HAR1 winners today. Only 7.1MW but still worthwhile. It seemed to get stalled but good to see this iconic green project progressing.

Is it just forecasting for interest rates that are hold SP back? It feels odd that a reliable dividend payer should be trading at such deficits to NAV. Maybe I’m just naive. Any thoughts anyone? Is this also due to adverse (windfall) tax decisions 3 years ago from last government?

This news is relevant to ITM. We have already contracts to supply 200MW of electrolysers for plant in Lingen.

Must be in pole position here on home shores. Hopefully will progress to FID.

This is the future. Never mind crazy massive battery energy stores for grid regulation in an era of renewables.

I think the expo has already happened but here is the detail on deltas timeframe. Still some way off and not surprisingly SOFC first in 2025 then integration with SOEC in 2026. Royalties should start next year and build.

This may well be one of the most important posts ever on here. I quote from the linked article

Bloom got a massive SP boost from one mega order of just the SOFC part of the system. Integrated with SOEC is next level, quantum leap, game changer. I’m struggling here to find superlatives suitable.

You may be missing the point of ceres power business models. If big orders come in it won’t be ceres power that is manufacturing them. It is the partner licensing deals already announced.

Ceres won’t need the capital to invest in manufacturing at all.

This is full on, unambiguously good news for itm power. Centrica are hard nosed commercial outfit steeped in fossil fuel legacy and they are saying hydrogen storage will save money.

ITM with world leading PEM technology is ideally suited to the renewable intermittency problem. We need some big FIDs to go our way. Stock looks very cheap just now.

They opted for pressurised alkaline electrolyser so not really in direct competition with ITM.

Agreed though. Decent solid order needed to lift SP.

I’m not sure today’s jail sentences in Hong Kong will help the cause.

When the Weichai deal went on ice SP took a huge nosedive. Could things be about to thaw in China relations and possibly Wrichai? Starmer and Xi have specifically mentioned clean energy. To me that shouts Ceres power. Maybe reading too much but I think Ceres may be about to bounce back. Timescale is anyone’s guess though.

Bloom is up nearly 50% on deal to supply SOFC for data centres.

Ceres power should logically follow suit. Bosch presumably and Weichai as well as other partners should be competing actively in this field.

Totally agree. 25% bounce and still well down over the year at bloom. Same for all hydrogen stocks. Though as pointed out here ceres is still more of an SOFC stock than a hydrogen stock. Tends to get battered with the same headwinds though.

Maybe the contrarians amongst us would see now as a good time to invest. For me the AI logic for SIFCs is inescapable given international grid constraints and potential to use green hydrogen as primary energy source. Natural gas though can be used and is less carbon intensive than other alternatives. It fits with a step towards green transition. Much needed for the energy hungry data centres.
