"RIYADH, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia announced Monday three projects in the iron and steel sector with a value of 35 billion Saudi riyals (9.3 billion U.S. dollars), the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The kingdom is working with local and international investors to establish a variety of investment opportunities in the sector, announced Bandar Al-Khorayef, Saudi minister of industry and mineral resources, at the second edition of the Saudi International Iron and Steel Conference.
He said that Saudi priorities include localizing steel products of all types, such as heavy iron sheets for the oil and gas sector, defense and construction sectors, as well as tinplate steel for the canned food sector."

"Vale to study implementing โmega hubsโ in Middle East countries
Reuters | November 1, 2022"
"Vale SA said on Tuesday it has signed agreements with local authorities and clients to look at developing so-called โmega hubsโ in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
The mining giant said in a securities filing that the industrial complexes in the Middle East would be focused on low-carbon steelmaking products such as hot briquetted iron to supply both local and foreign markets."
"Investors and clients would construct and operate the direct reduction iron plants and be off-takers of hot briquetted iron for either the export or domestic markets, it added.
โWe see a great potential in the direct reduction route, with the seaborne demand for these high-grade agglomerated products growing 100 million tonnes in the next 15-20 years,โ Valeโs head of iron ore Marcello Spinelli said."
### My comment: the scale of these project is huge. There is certainly room for Zanaga's high grade in use for Direct Reduction. Saudi Arabia would be wise to diversify and own its inputs (mines) to the steel making process.

Putting it out there..
1. Saudi Arabia opening new embassy in the RoC
2. Saudi Arabia have strategic fund for mining acquisitions, including iron ore.
Does 1 + 2 = Zanaga?
Answer: it is possible. A large investment in Zanaga would be a good reason to open an embassy plus they want iron ore. Zanaga is the best there is, the fat carrot.
