The enlightening answer to question on port go-ahead...they will have to go out and sell/seek finance for the full project again when the port officially goes ahead. Let's hope they get pushed into it soon by positive developments.

The value of the amount of engineering design work that has gone into the large scale project stage 1 and 2 should not be underestimated in its importance to potential suitors. Buyers would not have to start totally from scratch, the project is well defined and construction ready. It is too easy to forget this.

I find it hard to imagine that there is no appetite at all by the range of suitors out there for the large scale project. The macro environment for high grade iron has improved vastly since the financial crash. So it must be a country/risk thing now, hopefully that will be solved soon with the IMF bailout and Chinese backing of infrastructure; port, SEZ etc.

This something I had not noted before regarding port...p35 Appendix:

I had always assumed/understood the Stage 1 was third party port costed, not owner built in original plan. Obviously a third party build would be beneficial, but if push came to shove...

Finally had a look through the presentation. The EPP looks pretty good to me, the railway and port have ample capacity in Gabon. There appear to be no major obstacles, they have done their research well. Looking forward to the presentation, it may also give the sp an uplift tomorrow if we are lucky.

The next few months ahead could be interesting, not just for the EPP but port progress. Optimistic!
