The Competition Commission has approved the proposed merger whereby Cheetah Chrome South Africa intends to acquire Dilokong Chrome Mine (DCM), with conditions.

Cheetah is a special purpose vehicle incorporated for the purposes of the proposed transaction and is controlled by Xinganglian Mettalurgical (XGL)."

Regardless of an actual sale valuation, the current mcap is totally bonkers considering where the iron market is and the recent structural market shift to high grade ore preference. Should currently be sitting at 100p plus really..??? Mad, mad, mad.

Yes, if port go ahead is confirmed, this gets very interesting..

It is all about China.. China.. China.. China! They could move and soon, but this wait is enough to drive anyone nuts.

Zioc are not able to pressure Glencore...flea and elephant scenario. Up to now Glencore have stated they are not interested in greenfield development, especially iron ore (maybe this will now change ??). They inherited this project for free as it were in their merger (lol) with Xstrata. Glasenberg called ZIOP option value....and so we wait.

The problem is, it is not just up to Zioc, Glencore are the majority partner. That is where the key to this issue lies..and the aggravation.

The EPP is a tiny stocking filler, keeps up the appearance up of doing something. Make no mistake Phase 1 and 2 are the real objectives, the IPO here did not happen to spend a 1000 years mining 1mtpa to get through this monster resource. The world is not going to wait forever for ZIOP, there is no shortage of iron ore that can be developed globally. So I say again, Glencore sell it or commit. Cannot sit on this perpetually.

Question is....is it a wink-wink or a desperate plea? Hopefully the former, if they cannot flog this project under current conditions, or if the the port were still stalled, then there would be no hope for this.

Does anybody believe any of this? Astounding. Charade.

The IMF decision may unleash a positive snowball of events. I just wish we knew what going on behind lhe scenes. China, Glencore etc. Are we this close within touching distance or is it an illusion? The mantra of quality will through is wearing very thin. Glencore, make your move either way, please! Use it it or flog it. Tick tock.

I did not say the port won't be released. Said 'no guarantee'.... entirely different. The port is not cheap, there are many agreements and financing issues. Yes, it COULD happen tomorrow, but many are far too ****sure here. Hence my caveats. Hopeful I am that this will finally come good, but literally fingers crossed.

..it is possible nothing much may happen for another 6 months. The fast buck merchants may be v disappointed. Plus, there is no guarantee that the IMF financing will unlock the new port.
