Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
I completely agree with you that Boris will say virtually anything to save his skin.
However, the evil that is emanating from the Kremlin has to be called out....even by Boris.
"For once FA is right" - hahahahaha
It was great to hear Boris confirming the UK's ongoing support for Ukraine and that Putin will NOT be allowed to win this war! [Speech in Blackpool today] It's also what BB has been saying for some time!
Perhaps we will just have to accept that the Poly SP is going to be in the doldrums for a lot longer...
OldApache:
Please don't try to gag BB; he is one of the most interesting posters on this board.
There is always the alternative of blocking anyone you don't want to hear.
Well spotted, Thanglan!
There are so few people on here posting that, if it wasn’t for BB and Panda, the Board wouldn’t be able to sustain all the advertising it relies on. I for one find them incredibly interesting, especially over this weekend when the markets are closed and very little is going on.
The fact that Poly is so bound up with the fate of the Russian Federation means that it is important to know exactly what’s happening. Thank you guys.
So, Nathan90, please don’t spoil things.
It seems you are prepared to come on here day and night trying to win an argument rather than post new information about the war.
We all agree that a negotiated settlement will happen eventually. Of course it will; it usually does.
However the only factor that is controversial here is when that might happen.
If the Ukrainians are prepared to hand over the vast oil and gas wealth which I gather is under the Donbas, there will be a very reluctant ceding of their territory, which will become Russian to use in any way they choose, and which may well mean that they will rearm and become an even more dangerous force in the world.
If any negotiations are postponed, however, these will have been influenced by the promised weaponry which is said to be on its way from the US and others.
The latter scenario is, in my option, more likely.
Unlike you I don’t feel the need to use such words as ‘delusional’ and ‘ranting’ to get my point over…
Thanks, New Deal
It certainly confirms the idea that Putin is invading for totally economic reasons. His talk about saving people and mythologising about greater Russia is a complete red herring. It really justifies the West going after him and his brutal army.
Well done, Duggs!
'Biden’s decision to withhold long-range rockets from Kyiv is wrong. The West should give President Zelensky’s armed forces the means to win their just war of self-defence'. Interesting
It's not a question of having "no balls" Investor
Can you even begin to imagine what would happen if they did....!
Exactly Chippy
The Kremlin has responded to the US supply of weapons to Ukraine as
putting "fuel on the fire" - Amazing !!
According to the Sky News military expert:Even if there is a ceasefire, the Ukrainians will still want to fight on for their territory...
"Even though Biden has secured from Zelensky [...] agreement not to use those advanced mid-range rocket systems [against] Russian territory or targeting Russian interests in their territory, then even so the deputy Russian foreign minister has been saying this [...] expected delivery and the general package of military aid announced by the United States is being viewed very negatively in Russia," noted FRANCE 24 International Affairs Editor Angela Diffley. "He says it increases the chances of a US-Russian confrontation."
Onlyonewhufc:
"Why has it taken so long to start caring"
Because, in spite of what you and your ilk think, Western countries are not warmongering; they try to use diplomacy whenever they can, but enough is enough!!
Roxy:
My feeling is that Russia is intent on increasing its economic power by taking as much of Ukraine as it can, especially the industrial south. Russia has had problems at home including a shrinking demographic...which Putin is making even worse. Talk of 'greater Russia' is Putin living in a historic fantasy. imo
Nick and Roxy:
What a dreadful situation you and your Russian wife find yourself in, Nick; I am very sympathetic.
Like so many here, I try to see other scenarios for ending this ghastliness.
I think of Hitler and his Nazis, and what might have happened had we had appeased them...
As we all accept, the only alternative to more war seems to be to reduce Putin's ability to continue... through sanctions.
Unfortunately innocents on both sides suffer.
Things change...sometimes quickly...so don't despair. A week... as in politics...can be a long time.
Great post, Jotom, thank you.
I think everyone will agree with you re this shocking war ( which it is!)
We are conflicted as to how to continue, whether with appeasement and hence cessation, or by pushing the aggressors back with force. Sadly I am inclined to feel that we must push them back...and that seems to require force.
C'est la guerre...
FA:
You are a little inconsistent, and quite rude at times, in your remarks to BB and Panda
You tell them that they must have a source for everything they print but you then say in bold letters
that its a discussion forum and they must DISCUSS!
