That's a fair argument, although by far the strongest growth of sales has been online. Even this outfit has been uber aggressive through Pro Tiler, undercutting their stores on many day to day products. There's the conundrum, do they spend on driving demand towards their very high priced stores, or operate on pop corn margins online, knowing that at any time another bunch of brands could appear to dilute market share.
If you believe local councils will give up their cash cow, stinging businesses whilst giving back nothing in return, then crack on. They know that the warehouses could relocate to the freeport zones for even lower costs. Some of the online chappies operate from farm sheds. Until we get a DOGE looking at bloated council spending, they'll carry on being leaches on good honest businesses, more's the pity
