RE: What will we do tomorrow???1 Mar 2019 14:45
TR61,
Thanks. I respect your opinions too, and am happy to agree to disagree, but I don't think we are disagreeing on much, and am not taking anything personally. No need to write a book about it though! :)
I just think it is sensible for a company to play the cards close to their chest and not overly divulge details, despite what gets put into the press. I understand that shareholders need information to make informed decisions, but I also accept that as a shareholder, I will not be privy to every detail until deals get done etc. Commercial confidentiality plays a big part here too, and overrides shareholder desires.
Just quickly on your point #3 - you can't take as gospel what they say, because often they won't know all the facts on how things are going to turn out. So they can tell you one thing on the phone, but the end reality is different. This is also why I don't think they put out too many RNS' about 'deals' until they have more certainty on where things are going. The press articles give you a hint, but perhaps nothing firm, hence no comments from PMO. Imagine the uproar if they RNS that they are doing 'A and B' and shareholders act accordingly, but then in a few weeks time, it turns out to be 'X and Y'... You know the mayhem that would ensue!!
