Was looking at this at the 1200p level around 10 days ago, but this rose a lot quicker than I was expecting, so decided to buy in today.

Positive comments from JPMorgan boosted British Airways owner International Consolidated Airlines, up 0.5%, and easyJet, up 2.2%.

"As the sun sets on summer and we look ahead into the final quarter, we see a buying opportunity into winter for the European airlines sector. The sector has started to inflect upwards over the past month, however, remains a large under performer versus the market this year, due to concerns over softer passenger demand as pricing has begun to normalise for the first time post pandemic," JPM analysts said.

JPM has an 'overweight' rating on IAG and easyJet.

Good to see that profitability has been steadily increasing over the last 3 years since the Covid knockback in 2020 (see Fundamentals tab above). Will be interesting to see the year end accounts for 2024.

Finally bought in. I was looking at this (and EasyJet) after the pandemic, given that both suffered large falls, then got tied up elsewhere until now. I see the SP hasn't moved a great deal in that time, I gather this is due to the large increase in shares issued to cover debt? Planning to hold for the medium term here and see how it pans out. Looks to be a lot of shareholder fatigue here given the 3-year flatlining! GLA.

Well there hasn't been a huge sell off today. Price opened low, but volume is also low and seems to be more weighted to the buy side!

Shame no agreement on takeover but should demonstrate value here of at least 20p/share.

Agree, was thinking this earlier that any offer has to be at least 3 or 4 times net profit + cash in bank.

Let's not forget that the £37m offer (20p) is not official, but merely a (wishful thinking?) leak to the press, and Finncap have not made any comment on this via RNS.

A dividend payment only reduces the share price, as it is money coming directly out of the company coffers. So whether that money is distributed via dividend or included in the offer price for the company, I don't see that it makes any difference, so long as that amount is fairly represented in any takeover offer.

Share price rise straight to 20p tomorrow then!

Doesn't sound like a great deal, and is above my recent speculative purchases here, but was hoping for a better return!
They may have to increase their offer if there is already £25m in the bank.

Sounds about right! Doesn't look like any of their share dealing or spreadbetting capabilites are enabled for POLY. They said they are looking into it, so will wait to see what they come back with.

Hmm, not sure you can jump to that conclusion.
I'd guess on an extension to the takeover period being granted later today on the basis that conversations are still taking place...
